Taking Back Mary Ellen Black was disappointing. The book promised to be about getting up after hitting rock bottom. However, the book started right after Mary Ellen moved back into her parent's house. So just why it took about half the book to actually take her first taste of success is beyond me. Pretty good story.

From back cover:

"A starter marriage hadn't been the first act Mary Ellen Black had meant to script for herself, but bowing out provided hard-won perspective: The most important things in life were not things at all, but the people she held dear. One of the earliest NEXT books--I really liked a lot of the stories in this line, and hope these authors find new places to publish them. Mary Ellen Black is just divorced and had to move back in with the folks. She's got a strained relationship with her mom, no job skills and an ex-best friend to make up with. It's just a good "Taking back myself" story. Liked it a lot.

This was a good story about a woman that has to move back home with 2 daughters becaise her husband has lost everything they had and moved in with a 20 year old. It was witty as well as happy sad.
DeAnna
A nice story about a mother of two putting her life back together after a divorce and falling in love with a hot young guy in the process.
