3.5 stars. A solid entry in the Mark of the Vampire series hampered slightly by the female character who readers have known since book 1. In this volume Lucien begins his sad descent into madness as he evolves into the 'Breeding Male'. He fights this every step of the way, aided by Bronwyn Kettler, who has been deeply attracted to Lucien ever since she tasted his blood.

Unfortunately I haven't liked Bronwyn's character much since she first appeared in book 1. In this story I found her vacillating...more

Eternal Captive is the third book in Laura Wright's Mark of the Vampire series and was made of awesome. Lucian is by far my favorite of the Roman brothers and I couldn't wait to devour his story. His snarky, I don't give a frak attitude just totally does it for me. Him being an incredibly sexy and funny vampire certainly doesn't hurt. *sinister grin*

Knowing that Lucian would turn into the Breeding Male, I was concerned how he would ultimately end up with his mate. Breeding Male's aren't suppose...more

Synopsis: Since feeding her his blood, Lucian Roman has struggled with his obsession with Bronwyn Kettler-fighting an uncontrollable desire to kill her, if he has to, and the vampire she has sworn to wed. Mark of Vampire is good series, the overall story gets better with each book, which is why it’s a 4 star rating for me. With that said, I did have issues with the content of the story. I felt there was an overuse of the words from the glossary, particularly the words veana and paven. It became a bit distracting, taking away from the story. I’m also not a fan of the C word, but I knew going into this it would be used, I just didn’t expect it to be used so much :P. It is a good story, those were m...more

Lucian Roman knows he’s not supposed to following Bronwen Kettler. She’s being mated to another man. But there is a connection between the two, Lucian fed her his blood and now they have a need of each other that both are trying to ignore. Bronwen fears him because Lucien is destined to become the one thing that she has sworn she never wants to get near, the Breeding Male. And Lucian knows he is to become the Breeding Male and he knows he can never have a relationship with her but it does not ke...more

Lucian never makes things easy. I learned this about him the very first time I heard him speak in Eternal Hunger. He's cocky, stubborn and incredibly rude... But he's also smart, brave and loyal to his brothers. He takes a while to grow on you if you're not used to crude statements and what I call "smart-assery" but since I am and I love sarcasm, I took to Lucian right away. It took a bit to get around to reading his story, and the wait made the anticip...more

A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: ELF

“Eternal Captive” by Laura Wright is part of her ‘Mark of the Vampire’ series, following the tortuous relationship between Lucian Roman and Bronwyn Kettler. Lucian is the albino member of the Roman brothers destined to become the next Breeding Male and has an unrequited attraction to Bronwyn who has never reco...more

Ok, I'm saying that I would give this book 3.5 stars. I marked it as 4 because there is no 3.5 and I didn't want to mark it as a 3 because it was really great. I just had a small issue with it.

This is Book 3 in the Mark of the Vampire series by Laura Wright. This one focuses on Lucian Roman, the youngest of the Roman brothers. He is going to be the "Breeding Male". A Breeding Male is like a mindless, humping vampire in heat 24/7 from the time he goes into the change until the time he dies. Most...more

So 21% in Luca's story and wow, just wow! I've been anticipating this book since Eternal Kiss.

Lucian is everything I like in a male: sarcastic, snarky and straight up-asshole!! For those starting in on Laura's Mark of the Vampire, I really recommend they start from book one.

Luca's personality is outlined from the getgo, when we were first introduced to him. Bronwyn too is introduced in the first book - where we get insight on her personality and person. The tension between the two start there a...more

Lucian Roman is trying to resist his pull to Bronwyn Kettler, but he isn't succeeding. Hanging about her home the night before her wedding ceremony is a bit creepy, but he just doesn't give a damn. Not that he wants her or anything, because really, he just needs to make sure she is taken once and for all so this ridiculous pull he feels to her can be broken.

Bronwyn hasn't been able to stop thinking and fantasizing about Lucian since the day he let her feed from him, especially since she can sti...more

Holy wow. This book was really, really good. I'm so glad I didn't give up on this series, because each book has gotten progressively better.

Lucian is the youngest of the Roman brothers, and he is destined to follow in his father's footsteps as the next Breeding Male. He'd rather die than live as such a rutting beast. But he can keep his fragile hold on sanity, as long as he can keep himself from having sex with Bronwyn, the one woman with whom he has shared his blood. Of course, he wants her lik...more

ETERNAL CAPTIVE (Mark of the Vampire #3) by Laura Wright

ETERNAL CAPTIVE is the 3rd novel in Laura Wright’s Mark of the Vampire series. The Breeding Male is a vampire of pure blood whose genetic code and structure have been altered by the Eternal Order. He is brought to pureblood families to repopulate the pure vampire bloodlines. He is uncontrollable and must be cage.

Lucian Roman was the next Breeding Male, but it was a title he was not willing to accept or reveal. Reviled by everyone, even the...more

If I could give this book a 10 star rating I most definitely would!

What can I say... This book pulled me in so many emotional directions that I was left frazzled, in a good way. Luca just broke my heart, but he also made me smile, laugh and want somebody to clone him and his delishious tongue all for myself. I'm not ashamed to admit that I shed tears and then some by out right snot sobbing... It wasn't pretty!

Well, this started out great guns...really got into the Bron/Lucian tryst and the angst of the Breeding Male vs the good girl. But it got pretty redundant, the plot sorta loosened up, and I got less and less enthused. There is just something off-putting about using gutter language to speak to your beloved. I mean, it's not romantic music to my ears to be told how beautiful I am (which I'm not), how much I'm beloved and cherished and then hear "I can't wait to lick your c*nt". Dirty talking has a...more

Since feeding her his blood, Lucian Roman has been obsessed with Bronwyn Kettler. But she is to be mated to someone else, and he is destined to become the mindless, rutting Breeding Male. And he will become the Breeding Male sooner rather than later if he gives in to his desire for her, and she for him. But then Bronwyn is kidnapped after her mating ceremony to another, and the only way for Lucian to save her is to become the Breeding Male.

Eternal Captive by Laura Wright

This is a keeper on my self. I absolutely love this series and wait anxiously for the next book. This is definitely my favorite so far. These two characters have been on my mind since they were introduced in the first book and are the perfect pairing. Lucian and Bronwyn are hot and sexy together. The sex between these two is so scorching and descriptive I almost want to label this book erotica. If there was more of it in the book I would. The story was written so w...more

Eternal Captive was a pretty decent read. I hadn't read the previous two books in the series so I was a little lost. I wished I had read the previous two books so that I could have the full picture but the plot was easy enough to follow. Thankfully there's a glossary at the beginning of the book that helped me with the terminology that used heavily used throughout. I couldn't help but compare this book to the Midnight Breeds series by Lara Adrian. There were similarities that I could not ignore...more

This book was another great read. I read all three of this series back to back. Now I have to wait for number four, and I know when I get it I will put it on top of my tbr pile.
Lucian was the perfect tortured hero, who was capable of great love. My only problem was with how he treated his mother. Compared to his brother Nicholas, his childhood wasn't that bad, and I would have liked to see him be a bit more forgiving. The best part of this series for me was that none of the heroines annoyed me....more

From the start Lucian entranced me with his roller coaster of emotions. His connection to Bronwyn is mesmerizing. From previous books, the spark between the two has caught my attention and I couldn't wait to read their story. Lucian does what he wants when he wants and doesn't care what anyone else thinks, or at least that is how we perceive him to be in previous books. In Eternal Captive we get to see more into the person inside.

Bronwyn helps bring out the protector and lover in Lucian. Not wan...more

The beginning really shouted 'as if' to me, and Bronwyn was mega annoying and TSTL. But it got better about halfway through, even though the sex really made me blush at times, haha. I think this is because of the crude language; I'm used to more flowery descriptions of sexy times in novels. But I don't not like this style, either.

Overall, this was a nice read. I think it is my favourite book out of the series thus far; Lucian and Bron's attraction was obvious, but their devotion to one another...more

In Laura Wrights "Eternal Captive" Lucian Roman is a dynamic character that is filled with emotion and turbulence, although he tries to make everyone (including himself) believe that he is careless and distant. He has strong feelings for Bronwyn Kettler -- some moments he wants, needs to kill her, and others, he wants to sink himself into her, in more ways than one. His cocky, carefree, and self-centered persona is a mask for the true and very complicated Breeding Male that he is. Laura's MARK O...more

From the bat Eternal Captive put me through a maelstrom of emotions. Luca touched me in ways I didn’t think he would and his romance with Bronwyn just shook me to my core – in all the good ways! In the previous stories of Mark of the Vampire series there were encounters between Luca and Bronwyn that reverberated a magnetic sensual force. I couldn’t wait to see where they were headed because there was no doubt in my mind they were meant for each other. What Laura Wright delivered exceeded all my...more

I'll start this review by saying I've not read the previous novels in the series and I took this novel as a stand alone by my mistake.

This being a romance novel, the steamy bits and tension building between our main characters felt satisfying and well paced, though it will leave your inner feminist crying in a dark corner.

Lucian's character can't decide if he's an Irish gentleman or a crass college bro. He's extremely dominating and possessive of Bronwyn and there is a point that it is in a rape...more

Lucian Roman has finally found his match in Bronwyn Kettler. She is feisty, strong willed, beautiful, and about to belong to another. Ever since Luca tasted Bronwyn blood, she's gotten under his skin. He can't get her out of his mind. What would you do if the person you know you're supposed to be with was destined for another? What would you be willing to give up to be with this person. And is it all worth it, if being with that special someone would turn you into the the person you have despise...more

Lucian Roman is destined to become the next Breeding Male, as his father was. The Breeding Male is like an animal controlled by his hunger and desires and the need to spread his seed is so strong that he will take any female around, even it if means rape. Lucian appears to accept that this is his fate, but would rather die than become an animal and a danger to others. And if he can just keep himself from having sex with Bronwyn (which would trigger this gene due to having shared his blood with h...more

I loved this book so much I'm tempted to say something stupid or cliche. I had trouble with the novella that came out earlier because I didn't recognize alot of what was happening with what went on in the first two book. But for this book I went and re-read the series and that worked wonders.
I was so sucked into these books to the point we've had to have takeout for the past 4 days.

Eternal Captive takes us on an emotional rollercoaster ride. There are so many ups and downs, highs and lows you start to wonder if it will ever end. Will there ever be light at the end of the tunnel.

I will admit I was very, very nervous about this book. I was not sure how Laura was going to pull it all off, but she did!! And she did a beautiful job of it. While Eternal Captive was not my favorite book so far in the Mark of the Vampire series *cough Nicky’s*. But I can safely say that Lucian fan...more

Lucian, the rebel. Lucian, the don't-have-a-care badass. Lucian, the next in line Breeding Male. He carries the gene that will likely turn him into the Breeding Male, a mindless creature that will only know and want to mate with any female and impregnate them. This guarantees he will never have a mate like his brothers. And also, the transformation shouldn't be happening yet. He should've had another century to prepare.

But Bronwyn drank from him and acti...more
