I really like the Buffalo and the Indians because you get to learn how they did things. I love how the pictures are paintings and photographs. The one thing that I thought was so interesting was they made fly swatters out of using buffalo tails. It is amazing what they come up with in order to make a living in life. Another thing that is really neat is a buffalos shoulder blade was used to make a garden hoes. This book teaches us a lot and it would be a great book to teach to your students for More...

An amazing book on a 5th-8th level. Wonderful photography and historical images accompany well-written text regarding the history of the mighty buffalo. Discusses in detail the buffalo hunting expeditions promoted by the United States government in an effort to entice people to settle westward. Also includes current population information as well as why the buffalo are critical to the well-being of the North American Plains.
