Audience: I would use this book with 6th graders, since that is usually the grade they begin learning about the Holocaust in depth.
Appeal: This book has a lot of great pictures of the children during the Holocaust. There are a variety of some in the camps, some in hiding, and some who joined other families. This book is an easy read and has a lot of information that would be useful to share. It also has text boxes that share information about a specific person, place, or event during the Holocau...more

If you have preteen and up readers who are interested in learning more about the tragedy called the "Holocaust" then this book will start them on a research journey. This volume in the set focuses on the children who suffered and died during that time. The photographs will grab your emotions and the first-person narratives will make you boil with anger at how things like this could happen and still do. A good book to add to your nonfiction collection.
