currently reading this as a special 3 book series (which includes the counts secret child , the sandoval baby and one other one) called blackmail and secrets 3 stories (harliquin)
reading the sandoval baby first (since it is first in the book)
seems to be an alright story if a lil rushed (and hard to believe a lil that Freya after 10 yrs of pushing men away would suddenly have a one night stand with one guy ... as hot as he is but maybe thats just me)

3.5 stars -- it's sometimes hard in these shorter stories to believe the development of love in such a short amount of time. Enjoyed the Sandoval Baby more I think....Rafe actually owned up to some guilt, which was refreshing.
Two stories for the price of one.
Really enjoyed The Count's Secret Baby by Jennie Lucas. Carrie wanted love, and Theo was incapable of love. When he first heard her say the words, he disappeared for a year, leaving Carrie alone and pregnant. Finding out he now has a son, he wants Carrie back, but by his rules.
The Sandoval Baby by Kate Hewitt, I did not enjoy. I swear I read the first half of the story in a longer book. Rafe finds out he has a three-year-old son his ex-wife had kept from him. Af...more

The two stories were about secret babies. Both were good-ish enough to spend some time with.
The first one (The Count's Secret Child) was readable. The Sandoval baby I didn't like much. TSB had a lot of useless details in the beginning making the end hurried and incomplete (in my opinion). I would rather it had twenty or so pages to describe a little better their revelations and feelings. It felt rather sudden, how they fell in love, kissed and made up.

It was okay I liked the first story better than the second one because it seemed more realistic.
Well, TCSC sure grabs the emotions from page 1! Angsty. … A short, deliciously angsty tearjerker.
TSB is full of repressed feelings and much angst. Very satisfactory tearjerker. But yeah, short.

Jennie Lucas had a tragic beginning for any would-be writer: a very happy childhood. Her parents owned a bookstore, and she grew up surrounded by books, dreaming about faraway lands. Her mother read aloud to her in French when she was little; when she was ten, her father secretly paid her a dollar for every classic novel (Jane Eyre, War and Peace) that she read. As a chubby teenager, Jennie covere...more

“Entwining his hands in her hair, he kissed her with all the passion and love he'd kept hidden in his heart for thirty-sex years. Waiting for her. Only for her.
As he felt her kiss him back the frozen wall inside him finally broke, allowing life and sun inside his soul. He pulled away, stroking her cheeks as he looked down into her eyes.
"I love you, Carrie," he whispered.
"I love you.”
