Ce livre de Yôko Ogawa ressemble au premier abord à un journal de bord que tiendrait la narratrice, racontant le quotidien banal d’un auteur en mal d’inspiration. Et puis, soudain, ça dérape, il se passe des choses un peu extravagantes, on s’éloigne de la réalité, l’imaginaire de Yôko Ogawa se déploie, installant des ambiances bizarres et décalées.

Légère déception que ce dernier recueil de nouvelles de Yoko Ogawa. Bien que l'approche soit intéressante--Ogawa racontet-elle le quotidien d'une auteure japonaise fictive ou ces récits sont-ils autobiographiques?--on n'y retrouve pas la prose poétique qui caractérise Ogawa. La plupart des nouvelles nous laissent sur notre faim, et j'ai eu de la difficulté à me motiver à terminer Manuscrit zéro.

Certaines nouvelles sont tout de même touchantes, et le personnage principal est parfois très émouvan
