Everyone, man, woman, child, looks for a place to belong. And in her book, Lisa Troyer gives women the opportunity to find their place through offering a ministry with a circle of friends. Focusing on the areas of need in a woman’s life, acceptance, authenticity, affirmation, accountability and action, Troyer presents more than just opinions of self-help, she presents facts, straight from the Bible, that will confirm the need for fellowship among those with a like-mind and a like-heart.

A GREAT book! I was totally expecting this book to be about how to overcome our "shyness" of things(Out of our Comfort Zone), but that wasn't what is was about completely. Lisa Troyer opens up about her past and the things that hindered her in life from completely being the woman God wanted her to be. She says having A Circle of Friends, women who she was accountable to helped her overcome her past and move forward so allow God to fully change her.

Most books written by women for women seem to lack something, and that something is usually a transparency that we women need from other women. When we want to connect we want to do that on a deep emotional level but also feel safe when doing so – if we feel threatened or that what we say will get us judged or worse, spread around – then women can’t and won’t open up and feel like they belong.
When you open this book you’ll find yourself face to face with the author’s transparency of a huge child...more

I really enjoyed the forward by Carol Kent…I think they should make that into a book…
I did enjoy the rest of A Place to Belong, I loved that she brought many biblical stories to the surface for us to remember that Jesus knows all and is aware of all even when we think He isn’t aware. That He did not care if you were the village whore and nobody would talk to you or look at you (even though they most likely did when she wasn’t looking or in earshot or there).
