Under the Midnight Sun is a print bind up of novellas 3 & 4 in the Granite Lake Wolves series. Here are my reviews for each novella:

Wolf Games:
Maggie is Missy's sister (we met Missy in the last novella Wolf Flight) but she was so traumatised by events in her past that she hasn't seen her sister or spent any time with other wolves for nearly a decade. Missy has finally managed to convince Maggie to come and visit her and her new pack but Maggie is very wary and not looking forward to being surrounded by wolves.

Erik is the Granite Lake pack's beta (second in charge) but as a favor to Missy he offers to collect Maggie from the airport and make sure she arrives safely. As soon as they meet he recognises that she is his mate but Maggie doesn't trust the tie between them and Erik is going to have to convince her that they are meant to be together.

I really enjoyed the first 2 novellas in the Granite Lake series so I was really looking forward to reading Wolf Games, let me just say Vivian Arend didn't disappoint & this was probably my favorite story in the series so far. Vivian sure does manage to pack a lot into her novellas and although I would love to have one of these stories as a full length novel that is more because I just can't get enough of her wolves than because there is anything lacking from the stories.

Maggie has had a tough time when it comes to other wolves and she finds it impossible to trust them - completely understandable when you find out more about her past. Although she is attracted to Erik she is scared of the bond between them. She is having to deal with being around wolves for the first time in years and when she is forced to become a competitor in the Wolf Games she finds it really difficult. I loved Erik, he is so supportive and protective of Maggie and is determined to help her see how good life could be with the pack. He is also smoking hot but you'll have to read the story to find out just how sexy he is!

I really enjoyed watching them take part in the Wolf Games, they were kind of like the Amazing Race for werewolves & it was fun to see how things panned out. We get to see more of TJ as he is another member of their team - I'm sure I mentioned in my previous reviews how much I love TJ & I am so excited to read his story which is released in October! As usual TJ added a lot of comedy to the story with his clumsy ways, he would definitely be a fun guy to have around. We were also introduced to Jared (another team member) who I'm looking forward to getting to know better in future stories.

Wolf Games is a great installment to the Granite Lake Wolves series and I'm looking forward to reading more from Vivian Arend. I'd definitely recommend this series to fans of steamy paranormal romance - these novellas are perfect for when you want a quick but fun read and I'm sure you'll enjoy them as much as I have.

Wolf Tracks:
I have been a big fan of TJ's since we first met him in Wolf Signs so I couldn't wait to finally read his story. He has always been such a fun character and it was great to see more of him. Although he is clumsy and has caused a lot of giggles throughout the series in Wolf Tracks we get to see a more sensitive & serious side to him, yes he is still a lot of fun to be around but when he sets his sights on Pam he is determined to do whatever it takes to win her over. TJ really comes into his own here and it's like we've seen him grow up as the series has progressed.

Pam was a likable heroine and different to any of the previous ones in the series. As a human she has no idea that her best friend Maggie is a werewolf so she is in for quite a shock when she finds out the truth about TJ and his friends. She actually finds it easier to believe in werewolves than she does in a happy ever after though so it is going to take TJ some time to convince her they are meant to be together.

As I'd expect from any of Vivian Arend's novellas Wolf Tracks has a lot of humor, scorching love scenes and a romance you can believe in. This is a series I really love and would recommend to any paranormal romance fans who are looking for a quick read that is easy to finish in one sitting. I'm looking forward to the next story already.(less)

I won this book on Pearl’s World of Romance Blog, so I was Excited to read this book! I didn’t read the first two books of the series but I don’t think it’s necessary. Thought, it makes me want to read the prequel anyway : Wolf Signs and Wolf Flight.

I enjoy my reading but that was it. It’s not a bad book but personnaly I would prefer a little more of : paranormal things, suspenses or actions like a good fight between wolfs, males possessives, I don’t know something was missing.

BUT I never put that book down and I did enjoy my reading! I like it enough to read the next book of the series : Wolf Tracks (the review will be post soon). I can already said that I prefer Wolf Tracks! I recommend the book anyway because it’s was a light paranormal romance read and the story was intertaining. And I think it's the purpose of a book.

The characters were well described and we learned about them. Maggie’s story is pretty sad and this is what makes me want to read the first books of the series : to know more about her and her sister Missy. Maggie’s a good girl character and we falling in love with her and her problems really fast. Erik character is charming but (for me) a little bit to gentle and not enough raw. He’s always there to protect everyone but he never really jump into the action.

I like the firsts chapters when Maggie and Erik are meeting. I think they were the best chapters of the book. The games was fun but nothing more. The characters : Pam, TJ, Jared were well used in this story. They bring the fun moments. I think the author have a great imagination and even if I didn’t fall in love at first sight with Under the Midnight Sun, Vivian Arend is a pretty good writer. The writing is fluid and never boring. I would love to read more about this author.

The saddest thing in this book is if the characters weren’t shifters, there aren’t will be no paranormal in this story.

But there is romance! It’s was really present in the book : the way the male always want to seduced the female! SO if you like a good romance book you will enjoy this one!
