Coupled with the related website, this is a very ambitious and far-reaching introduction to all water-related issues. The illustrations are beautiful and accurate. Too many topics are examined to make this volume good for casual reading, but the table of contents, index, and internet links make it an excellent resource.
We did not read the internet version. We have a hard copy. The pictures are beautiful. We chose not to read the text in order and started a dialog about ecosystems, marine animals, environmental protection and marine archaeology just to name a few. This book is an excellent starting place for a myriad of topics related to seas and oceans.
