Good guide for any employee. Gives you an idea about how bosses think they have to manage work, which helps you understand where you stand in their plan.
Didn't like the contradiction in some parts of the book (he insists on the importance of family life in one part, and asks you to devote more of your life time to your work at another!)

Recommends it for: Anyone who wants to understand American corporate culture
While I do not like the aggressive, unbalanced approach fostered in this book--climbing the corporate ladder requires one to give up most of her or his life for that cause--reading it is helping me understand how corporate America works. I have determined I need to get out of said culture, because I prefer for my life to be far healthier and balanced. However, for as long as I am in it, I will able to use the knowledge in this book to navigate the treacherous waters of corporate America with the...more

It describes the booby-traps that are waiting for you in the corporate world and the ways to avoid them to not destroy your career. It also lets you know that some mistakes are so bad that you'll have to change careers whether you want to or not.

This is a good book to also remind people that if this is not the environment you want to work in you need to find an environment that is right for your person...more
