Definitely Gets My Vote

This is the first novel I've read by Mrs. Giselle Carmichael and you can bet I'll be looking for more of her novels. 'The Politics of Love' is a fast-paced and believable romance. I was totally enthralled with Chase and Eden from the very beginning. The characters were well-developed and Mrs. Carmichael handled the interracial issues very well, without following the normal stereotypes. The suspense of the campaign and the bumps in the road for the couple keeps the story fl

This book was a great read. I had continuous trouble trying to put it down. I was very pleased to see that the author had placed 3 conflicts in this story instead of having one drawn out for the entire book. A few developments come to be a surprise and there were a few points where you just sit and laugh with the characters. I truly enjoyed this book.

This book is guilty of a very basic writing faux pas. Unrealistic dialog.

Every other page, I was screaming, "PEOPLE DO NOT TALK LIKE THIS!" Teacher or not, mayoral candidate or not-private conversations do not read the way every single one in this book did. It was stilted and distracting. And it made me want to pull the stick out of the heroine's ass.

To top it off, the author arbitrarily tosses in some hood slang here and there. I imagine just to show that this woman is in touch with her cultura

Recommends it for: any person that loves interracial romance
it starts of a little slow but then it heats up
The love and friendship that developes between this to characters
was beautiful. This is a book I would read over and over again and not get bored with it.
Great love story with a plausible plot. I really liked both the hero and heroine and can't wait to see if the other siblings of the heroine get their own stories.
This is the first book by Mrs. Carmichael that I read and I was hooked.
the passion between Chase and Eden was off the charts.
love is blind and when you love someone you will never get tired of them. this is one of my favorite books ever.
I loved this book. The characters were intense, and the story was believable.
I like the book
This was a really cute politics love story, so love the characters just when I thought Stanley was behind everything but no someone else was lol. Chase and Eden have great chemistry from the beginning together they were hot as sin. So glad to see both of the them reconnected they relationship with they parents. The best man did won in politics of love but can we please get a book on stone and Taylor follow by sky and David that'll be awesome.

4 stars. Wow this story, was so good from the beginning to the end. How don't judge what the reporters says to everyone that listen to all the bs and the drama that they keep telling about Political Parties as well as Celebrities. All they want is to get praise of writing incorrect drama and damaging so many people lives. It is not about Race when there is love and care to one another. It is not about Race when you meet the person of your dreams. Society only do see Black and White, people stop ...more
While I had a few bones to pick about the believability of the storyline, this steamy IR romance was a great read. Sweet price and not too many editing errors. The book was tastefully done and not too over the top. The main point of contention was Chases' willingness to all of a sudden jeopardize his mayoral dreams so easily and nonchalantly. Um that doesn't happen in real life, usually there's a balance. Ah well, I'd read another one of Ms. Carmichael's books, definitely.
sentimental to the point of being sappy. the fact that it's an interracial couple didn't make it any less predictable than the typical romance novel.
I Loved This Book The Instant Connections Between Chase And Eden Had Me So Intrigued I Was Done Reading This Book Within A Week.

I really enjoyed this book. It had a great pace to it. The characters were well developed.
Never over the top, real characters in real situations. I liked it a lot.
I could have used more love scenes but the story was pretty good.
