The Spaniard’s Passion (I wonder about the title….he hero is actually half Welsh/Argentinean!!!!) is the 5th and last book in the Galvan Brides Series and I loved reading as much as I did the first time.
Jane Porter is one of my favourite authors. I love her books. Her stories are filled with romance, intrigue, that take us on a rollercoaster of emotion
This is the story of a love triangle that spans years and continents between Alonso Galvan, Sophie Johnson and Clive Wilkins. The three had been c...more

It's typical that I should read the fifth Galvan book in the series first. But it's certainly whetted my appetite for the rest. Alonso is one hot alpha male and the young Sophie was frightened by his intensity and chose what she thought was the safer option. Not so as it turns out years later when the widowed Sophie is confronted by the actions of her dead husband and the still fiery Alonso. The pair are brought together by Sophie's search for the truth around her husbands death and Alonso must...more

The Spaniard's Passion indeed!

Well, that certainly was unusual with all the secrecy and stuff. I think this is the first time I've read a story that wasn't so focused on how the characters lay writhing in unsatiated agony, but rather the intensity of Alonso's passion and love (and PATIENCE! My goodness but that is one hell of a patient man!) for Sophie.

At first, I sort of disliked Sophie's character, she seemed too bland and too in denial but she gradually opened up because of her love for Alons...more

Sophie, Alonso and Clide all best friends in school did everything together. When Clide asked Sophie to marry him, she did. But, she could never get past her true feelings for Alonso. When Clide is killed in a horrible, secretive accident, Sophie sets off to South America to find out what really happened and ends up tragically involved in something she was better off not knowing. Alonso goes right after her knowing what trouble is waiting and to do what he can to save her. This book is a wonderf...more

I love Jane Porter's books! This one was full of adventure! I loved the taut suspense, and the developing emotional relationship between Alonzo and Sophie. Alonzo always knew he loved Sophie, always wanted her. But she was afraid of her feelings and married another man. Now that her husband is dead, Alonzo is back in her life. And this time he won't let her go. Add in secrets, lies, drug lords, and a hot South American setting, and this is a book to savor. I love the emotion Jane packs into so s...more

I have to say that I have never been disappointed by Jane Porter's Harlequin books. Since I found this in one of my used bookstore treks, I wish that I could have read the others in the series!

Born in Visalia, California, I'm a small town girl at heart. I love central California's golden foothills, oak trees, and the miles of farmland. In my mind, there's nothing sweeter in the world than the heady fragrance of orange blossoms on a sultry summer night.

As a little girl I spent hours on my bed, staring out the window, dreaming of far off places, fearless knights, and happy-ever-after endi...more
