I didn't think it was possible to make King's Promise as good and King's Passion, but as usual Ms. Byrd proved me wrong. I loved the story. Cheryl and Xavier were so good together and I simple love the way she has Quentin telling the stories. It just has be anticipating his story more. The King's and Hinton's series are packed full of sexy alpha men, and the strong and sexy independent women they fall in love with. I'm not sure who Quentin love interest will be, maybe hasn't been introduced yet....more
This is the second book by Adrianne Bryd that I've read. I enjoyed this book more than the first in the series but I was a bit disappointed with the story and the author.
These stories are fiction but as readers we read them because of the possibility that this could happen to us. We could have this fantasy as a reality. I've noticed that a lot of authors are irresponsible in the message they give readers.

I enjoyed this book as well as the first one, it was also HOT and steamy, and I loved that Xavier went after what he wanted with Cheryl. I also enjoyed the little twist of drama with kendrick, although I didn't like his character.
I hate to say but I felt like she left me hanging a bit at the end. I wanted to know more about what happened with Xavier after becoming part owner of the gym and what did Cheryl do as far as her career is concerned. I would have loved to see what happened when Jason f...more

I really enjoyed the 2nd installment of the King brothers. Xavier was a goner from the moment he laid eyes on Cheryl, and so was she, although she tried her hardest to fight it. These 2 were smoking hot together, and the love scenes were very steamy...key phrase "on the bar". I love how Cheryl chose love over a career that she absolutely loved. I just wished Xavier would have listened to her side and given her a chance instead of cutting things off so quickly. And what can I say about Quentin, h...more

This is turning out to be the most bad *bleep* series, don't want to offend anyone but that's my emotions right now and that's how I feel at this present moment. When you read Arianne Byrd's books it's like talking to a girlfriend who is telling you a story about someone from the neighborhood. You can relate to the language and phrases that the author uses. The one that had me smiling (tell the truth and shame the devil) ok that sounds like something one of my girlfrie...more

I love how Adrianne Byrd creates these interesting, atypical heroines. In this story, the heroine is a cop working undercover in a gentleman's club. Not only is the book sexy, but there's plenty of comic relief when the brothers and their cousin, Quentin, get together. By the way, Quentin either needs to find a woman fast or go straight to the loony bin - stat.
Excellent story!

I've read a few of Adrianne Byrd's novels -- this was the first for me in this series--and although I enjoyed her writing previously, none of the others I read were as steamy as this one. Cheryl and Xavier's romance burns up the pages right from the beginning! Although Xavier sounds drool-worthy, I can't speak highly enough that Ms. Byrd writes a strong heroine who brings him to his knees. Besides the hot factor, it's funny and a bit sad too...it's got a little bit of everything from beginning t...more
Surprisingly King's Promise really kept my interest and was very interesting story. Byrd's delivery, the narration by Quinton as told to his therapist, however, was a bit irritating...readers are forced to rely on the truthfulness of the character Quinton, who is, to put it simply, insane.
Anyway, I would recommend this book. I'm a fan of Byrd's romance novels.

The first King book had me hot and bother. Now, Book 2 in the King series has be hot, wet, and desperate for more. The words were a vivid picture in my head.
Cheryl Shepard/Grier may have gotten herself in to more than she bargained for. Xavier King got a lot more that he was use to handling."Undercover" was were all the magic exploded, but not where it ended. Cheryl is not the only one keeping secrets. But who is holding the grudge. Hot matting session around each corner.

National Best-selling author Adrianne Byrd has always preferred to live within the realms of her imagination where all the men are gorgeous and the women are worth whatever trouble they manage to get into. As an army brat, she traveled throughout Europe and learned to appreciate and value different cultures. Now she calls Georgia home.
