Meet our Hero Lady Danbury's grandson is none other than the nortorious Gareth St. Clair. Although it proberly wasnt entirely his fault that he gained such a wicked reputation. There were plenty of other men who behaved with equal lack of propriety and more than a few who were as handsome as sin, but Gareth St. Clair was the only one who manged to combine the two with such success.

It's another great Bridgerton story from Julia Quinn. There are parts that just had me chuckling out loud - made my husband look at me a couple of times and ask what was so funny. But Gareth's struggle was so touching. My favorite heros are the tormented ones who are healed by love and Gareth definitely qualifies.

Thank heavens for Spring Cleaning!
A year or so ago I began reading Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series and after devouring the first six books back to back, I set them aside and moved on to something else. Well here I am a year later and in the spirit of “Spring Cleaning,” I decided I’d catch up on those books that were just sitting on my shelves collecting dust, and that included the final two Bridgerton books.
Gareth St. Clair is in a bind – that’s what the cover blurb tells us. Though I must admi More...

I say, Julia Quinn must have made a deal with the devil, because, AGAIN: such a great book this is, and cute too, actually, it’s probably the cutest one in the series. I’m still to read the last one, so I can’t be 100% sure of that statement, but yeah, I’m almost certain Hyacinth and Gareth will win the Cutest Book in the Series Award.
So, this is Hyacinth's book, the youngest Bridgerton of her generation, and I’m quite sure she’s also the youngest heroine yet in the series, being only 22; she is More...

I love Ms. Quinn's depictions of Hayacinth in this story. She was a wild and mischievous child, and grew up to be an extremely intelligent and still mischievous woman. This was such a fun book, and at the same time had some serious undertones. I found my stomach clenching up in excitement and nervousness. There is a lot of Lady Danbury throughout the book, and she and Hyacinth are a great pair! But I also think that Garreth is a perfect match for her. He is witty and charming, and smart enough t More...

This was not one of my favorites of the series. It took me awhile to warm up the h/h both. Then I felt Gareth was a toad for some of the book, when he asked Hyacinth to marry him. The last 1/4 of the book was the best part, but couldn't recover the 4th star.

No idea what I wrote down there, but it looks extensive.... I'm sure it's a love description of the book. I'll stick to that. ;) It was really cute! The epilogue freaking kills me! Heeheehee!!!

Another great read in the Bridgerton Series! Quinn did another awesome job and after the 7th book in the series she still makes me laugh out loud! There is never a moment where Hyacinth Bridgerton can keep her mouth shut. Being the youngest in the family she'll do anything to get her way! Her family is so eager to marry her off so when Gareth St. Clair enters the picture her family is ecstatic! She helps Gareth St. Clair translate his grandmothers mysterious diary and during their late night esc More...

I think there should be another star, at least 5 and a half stars for this book, since if to becompared to the previous of the bridgerton series that i've had the pleasure to read, THIS book tops the list( well maybe on par with The Duke & I). This book has all the excitement and wit that was very engaging. I for one actually stopped another book (by neil gaiman) to read this book. I like my historical romances, would probably want to jump into the pages and stay there perhaps.

Ah, aku tahu cerita tentang Hyacinth pasti rame sejak aku baca kisahnya Anthony.

I put this book away on the shelf for years. I don't know why, but even as I finished other Bridgerton series, I never really want to read Hyacinth story. Finally, after years of delaying, I set my mind to read this.
Overall it is an okay read. The story is about Hyacinth and Gareth St.Clair, grandson of Lady Danbury. Hyacinth is lady Danbury's favourite person, second only to his grandson. That is why she is trying to match them.
Gareth and Hyacinth firs met in a Smith-Smythe concert which they More...

So far, this is my favorite of the Bridgerton series (though I've skipped Francesca and Eloise's) and I believe the main reason is that Lady Whistledown isn't anywhere to be found. Hurray!!
No more of the repetitive Pall Mall game, no more of the Bridgerton family dominating the main characters' story. This book mainly focused - as it should - on the hero and heroine.
Hyacinth is an opinionated, stubborn woman but she's also sweet (she reads to Lady Danbury every Tuesday, aww) and knows when to r More...

I know I've said this before, but this is one of my favorite Bridgerton books. Aside from the fact that this book contains the spunky and bold Hyacinth, it also contains a large helping of Lady Danbury, which you know makes for a good laugh.
The title, though a bit cheesy, is fitting, indeed. The book begins with Gareth St. Clair, a boy (then man) who is detested by his father, due to an illegitimate birth. After his older brother passes, his father's form of vengeance is to marry his son off to More...

F'ing Goodreads and the 'net ate my thoughts. Now I have to remember what I wrote :( Guess I'll have to do this short-form:
1. Hyacinth seems a bit over-characterized as a youngest child (but that seems to be necessary for a romance novel...moving on).
2. Gareth has the Quinn-standard rake-reputation and shitty-father trope (twist: he's not really his father's son but was recognized as such and, unfortunately for Gareth's elder brother who seems like he was nice but died without male children maki More...

I don't know if I would say that this is Julia Quinn's best, but I really disagree with the other readers who have trashed It's In His Kiss.
I think that one of the trends in romance over the past decade or so has been to try to keep the 'magic' - the escapism, the one-true-love, etc. - but also to bridge the gap between happily ever after and the kind of romances that real people can relate to. What's the point of reading romances if all you'll ever learn from them is that this kind of fairy tal More...

With the last couple of historical romances I tried to read not doing it for me, I'd just about decided to limit my historical authors to Meredith Duran & Courtney Milan with an occasional Eloisa James thrown in, however this was a delightful story with a charming, unusual heroine. She was too smart for her own good, fearless, and enchanting. I love how the hero was smart enough to keep up with her and how he humored her when she went off on tangents, but mostly I loved how he connived to co More...

I've read a number of Julia Quinn's books for "brain candy" purposes, but I can't say that I'm a great fan of hers. After reading the first six books of the Bridgerton series, I finished this one with a couple of burning questions:
Why does Julia Quinn always make her characters prone to act like spoiled children? Is this supposed to be for comic relief? If so, it has failed on me. Is she creating a subtle (perhaps TOO subtle) satire? If so, I'd probably have a little more respect for her as a wr More...

I enjoyed this one a lot mostly because Hyacinth is AWESOME. I especially enjoyed all her scenes with Violet and Lady Danbury. I enjoyed the cat burgling and the mystery of the Italian grandmother's missing diamonds. The mystery of Gareth's parentage, and his relationship with his dad was kind of meh, though. and again, like in When He Was Wicked, I had to side-eye his use of sex to make sure Hyacinth couldn't back out of the wedding. Especially since the heroes in Quinn's novels repeatedly and More...

I think I want to jump for joy. After the disaster that was When He Was Wicked, I'm so glad this book was fabulous. Of course, how could it not be when it is about Hyacinth Bridgerton? She and Gareth are my second favorite couple of this series (after Colin and Penelope, of course).
I positively loved the plot and characters of this book. I loved how the discovery of the diary brought Gareth and Hyacinth together, making them get to know one another. I've loved Hyacinth since book one when she fl More...

I was a little nervous about starting this book because there were considerably more negative reviews to this book than the previous books in the Bridgertons series. I had enjoyed these books so much that I didn't want to spoil my enjoyment by reading one that would leave me with a sour taste in my mouth. Several reviewers commented on the difficulty they had in liking the male lead of this story, Gareth. But, despite the complaints, I read on. I'm glad that I did. This is a little different tha More...

This book has a whole cast of characters that make it a very enjoyable read that you won't want to put down. There are the returning characters; Anthony Bridgerton, Lady Danbury, Gregory Bridgerton and Violet, lady Bridgerton. Lady Danbury's role is a little more involved in this book than it has been in any of the previous editions. She is Gareth St. Clair's grandmother and probably one of the few people that really cares about Gareth. Lady Danbury is a character and in many ways she reminds me More...

It’s in His Kiss was such an enjoyable, cute, hilarious story. Like really hilarious… I was laughing out loud throughout the entire book.
The book opens with a backstory on Gareth St.Clair. We learn of his relationship with hisfather and how they became estranged, which is a big part of the book. It then picks up ten years later when Gareth and Hyacinth are sitting together at the annual Smythe-Smith musicale, thanks to their mutual acquaintance: Lady Danbury, Gareth’s grandmother. Although it wasn't that good compared to previous book but I quite enjoyed the story.
The story was thrilling and full of adventure with bits of family drama. Gareth St. Clair had only one person he truly loved (before his lady came into his life) and that was Lady Danbury. Before, he was lonely. He didn't have the love from his father (he isn't Lord St. Clair's son but his bastard), his mother had died, and he had a brother whom he loved, too, had died. His disputes with his Lord St. Clai More...

I must say, Hyacinth has certainly grown up! And she's definitely unique among her siblings. I so love her mother, Violet, and how she is so in-tune with her children -- who they are and why they do what they do. *sigh*
I wasn't sure I'd like this book. The story seemed to move so quickly... and I was shocked (yes, shocked!) at Hyacinth's pre-marital activities! She's not the first of her sisters to experience the joys of marriage before making the trip down the altar, but she went about it in su More...

Hyacinth and Gareth's story, the seventh in the Bridgerton series.
This book had a lot of potential, but it never really got off the ground. The book opens with a lot of promise. The hero Gareth is 18 and has never been given any affection, direction, or approval from his father. His mother has been dead since he was a small child.
His father then informs him that he is not really his son, and that his mother had an affair with an unknown man. From this point on Gareth and his father are official More...

I thought I was reading the Duke and I but I got confused by the similar covers. So I went and read book 7 instead of book 1. I thought it was weird when they talked about married siblings etc.
Oh well.
I think I enjoyed the plot more than the writing. this is my second Julia Quinn book and I think I don't enjoy her style of writing as much.
