It's another great Bridgerton story from Julia Quinn. There are parts that just had me chuckling out loud - made my husband look at me a couple of times and ask what was so funny. But Gareth's struggle was so touching. My favorite heros are the tormented ones who are healed by love and Gareth definitely qualifies.

Hyacinth Bridgerton is the youngest of the rowdy Bridgerton family, and the last of the girls as yet unmarried. Her mother (and Lady Danbury, an elderly - and crotchety - family friend) are determined to see her happy before the end of her fourth Season in London. But Hyacinth simply hasn't been interested in the proposals she has received - either the gentlemen in question were only after her fortune, or they were quite incapable of proving her intellectual match. Hyacinth has no desire to pret...more

I was looking for a mindless way to spend a Saturday. I got what I asked for. My biggest problem with romance writers is that once I find one whose writing style I like, I'll read everything by her. But then I'll realize how often they repeat plot devices. This author, for example, always has the Regency-era woman "compromised," making marriage required. So instead of the romantic conflict being about whether they live happily ever after, the conflict is about whether the hero will say...more

I like Hyacinth. Of all the Bridgerton sisters, I feel like she's the most like me. It's nice to have a heroine with whom I can completely identify. I like Gareth too. They're a great couple, and it was a very enjoyable book.
It doesn't get five stars because the villain was pretty lame, and because there was so much outside pressure for these two to end up together that I knew it had to happen sooner rather than later. That doesn't make their union any less sweet, it just makes ...more

In the second to last book in Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series, the time has come for youngest child Hyacinth Bridgerton to find true love. When she meets Gareth St. Clair, a notorious rake and heir to baron St. Clair despite a well-known rift between father and son, she is struck by his honesty and refusal to care what others think. Being a blunt and candid person herself, Hyacinth feels she has found a kindred spirit. When Gareth asks her to help him translate his Italian grandmother's diary, t...more

(#7 in the Bridgerton Series)
HYACINTH! Oh, geez. And GARETH ST. CLAIR. This book was fun. I REALLY liked it. Oh gosh, and the epilogue! HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA! :) Oh, that's some gooooood stuff!
Okay... premise? Hyacinth is the youngest Bridgerton. She's friends with Lady Danbury--she goes and reads to her every... Tuesday, I believe. Anyway, Hyacinth is SNARKY. She's SMART and completely outspoken. And I think she just... intimidates a LOT of people. I imagine Lady...more

Another great read in the Bridgerton Series! Quinn did another awesome job and after the 7th book in the series she still makes me laugh out loud! There is never a moment where Hyacinth Bridgerton can keep her mouth shut. Being the youngest in the family she'll do anything to get her way! Her family is so eager to marry her off so when Gareth St. Clair enters the picture her family is ecstatic! She helps Gareth St. Clair translate his grandmothers mysterious diary and during their late night esc...more

I love the Bridgerton series. By book seven, the plots used in the stories seem very similar (they all seem to have the same conflict at the end to overcome) but the characters keep the stories fresh. It has to be said that Quinn really distinguishes between the characters and makes them vivid. This story in particular is funny and warming. A romance novel to make you smile.

Ah, happy fluff! Regency England, a handsome rake, a sharp-tongued-nearly-on-the-shelf vixen, a secret diary, some sexy spice... what's not to like? I really enjoy Julia Quinn's characters and the ongoing tales of the Bridgertons. It's just so fun getting to that happy ending.

A very enjoyable romance. A diary and parentage mystery (as well as some diamonds) along with a romance. Good play between the dashing hero, father unknown, and our heroine, the outspoken Hyacinth. She's pretty funny, really. Plus the wonderful Lady Danbury.

Loved the heroine, but had somewhat less patience for the hero. I appreciated that none of the heroine's brothers was too obnoxious in concerning themselves with her honor and virtue.

Lady Danbury is sort of a cross between Elizabeth Bennett and Lady Catherine de Bourgh and my favorite character in the Bridgerton novels; watch out for the cane!

Quite lovely characters. Quinn has a really pretty website and there you can read her very interesting biography. She's a clever woman and it's reflected in her books. I am tempted to read the rest of the Bridgerton series, this being book 7 out of 8 or 6 out of 7. There are a lot of Bridgerton siblings and I feel that at a certain point even the parents must go "eh, close enough." At least that's how I'd feel if I were a parent. It's a lot easier to get concerned when you've only got ...more

Again enjoyable but not as much as the first ones. Not sure but I think Hyancith's personality is a bit too much for me!

I read this book after having decided to take a break from romances for awhile. "It's In His Kiss" was a very satisfying return to the historical romance genre for me. I had been a tad bit disappointed with a few of the previous books in the Bridgerton series but this one delivered. I thoroughly enjoyed the witty interaction between Hyacinth and Gareth - and Lady Danbury...what a hoot! Many laugh-out-loud moments combined with some quite touching scenes make for a very enjoyable read. ...more

Definitely my favorite book in this series. I love Hyacinth. She is the person that I imagined Eloise to be. She is spunky and smart, and the book is very witty and fun. I also love Lady Danbury and how much Hyacinth is like her. The ending was a bit of a disappointment, so reading the 2nd epilogue is essential to get closure about the jewels.

I tried real hard not to compare "It's In His Kiss" to "When He Was Wicked" because there has never been another novel (in my opinion) to compare with that one. But this one stood on its own and kept me entertained throughout. "It's In His Kiss" is a romantic and comical read, and definitely worth the time and money.
