I must have read this book around 8 or 10 years ago, but parts of it still stick in my head. I remember it being so unique and there being a lot of what I loved about Christopher Pike's writing and story-telling.

Disturbing--that's how I'd described Pike's book if I was only allowed one word in any review. Intense, semi-historical, and definitely disturbing; that about sums up what you'll feel after reading this.

This book started out a near flawless murder mystery. We have a teenage boy, Dusty, who is compelled to kill young woman by a force unknown. He even ends up somehow aiding in the investigation to capture the killer that was himself.

The most amazing thing about this is how More...

Darker and more poorly written than any other Pike book I've read (and there have been some doozies). A teenage serial killer's horrific crimes parallel the totally devastating break-up of his lab partner, Shelia. She improbably becomes involved in solving the murders, which are even more improbably tied to the Nazis. The highlight is the killer's name: Dusty Shame. Don't read this unless you love clunky dialogue or share my fascination with Christopher Pike.

Christopher Pike is one of my favorite authors from my youth. I saved this particular book from a pile of books that was going to be recycled, and I am glad I did.

What is there to NOT love about this book? Teenage serial killer, evil Nazi spirits, early 90s internet drama. I can't even begin to express how much fun this little book was to read.

This book was too twisted for me in 5th grade. I regret having had reading skills more developed than my grasp on reality. I wish I had the courage to put that book down or maybe burn it before it metaphorically smashed the bridge of my nose with a hammer or blew out my brains in a 'fine dust'. Don't read this book, I swear.

First book I read by Pike! I was a little girl and I don't remember much from it, except that it got me to live Pike! From then, I never stopped reading him. I loved how he played with the main character! I love the story he told, especially how descriptive the book was. It was a very good book on the whole.

wow i wasn't even a year old when this was released! and yet i stumbled upon it and loved it when i was about 13. It seems to me that everyone who had read christopher pikes books read it when they were so much younger. i skipped through one chapter but it was a good read besides.

The Wicked Heart is about a teenage boy who is a serial killer. The book was confusing at times and I felt lost towards the end, but it was still a good book.

It was excellent. It was a thriller and kept you guessing. It had world war 2 history thrown in and was a surprising ending. I would deffiently recomend it.

Not one of the best Pike books but definitely a good one. It has Pike's usual fast paced suspense that keeps you turning the pages. I wasn't sure about the Nazi connection at first but I found that it actually added more depth to the story and made it very interesting. I also loved, as with most of Pike's books, the spirituality element that he puts in. Good read overall!

Read this back in the day, and it scared me half to death. The Wicked Heart could probably also be titled Dexter for the Tween Set.

I read this book as a teenager and I can still remember the story like it was yesterday. I was disturbed after reading this book. It felt so real as I read it. Pike made me feel as if I was in the room with Dusty every time.

disturbing, as always. more depth (thematically) than some of the earlier works, but yet, the characters were less resolved.

This was one of Pike's more memorable novels for me, I think because the main character is fairly complex and somehow likeable for a murderer. The plot had something to do with evil dating back to the Nazis, and the main character's relationship with his mother...
