This book is jam-packed with information. The point of the book is to encourage children to get active, but also has whole pages of body diagrams with anatomy information and intense vocabulary like bronchi, arteries, bloodstream, etc. I think the book tries to do too much and am not sure what age group would most benefit from this book. The information is more appropriate for upper elementary students, but the pictures are simple cartoons that show younger children.

Children are normally not exposed to expository text until they are well into elementary school -- a huge disservice to them as they will be required to read more complex text as they move into middle school and beyond. This is a nice introduction to expository reading -- it's fun and informative and introduces complex information in a non-threatening way. A must for the kindergarten-third grade child.

This book is a great book for younger kids do learn and understand the body. That a happy body is a healthy one. The pictures and captions in this book are simplified so that children can learn and understand on a level that is comprehendible for them. I highly recommend this book for kids and parents on a healthy changing body.

Got this book because it showed the skeleton, muscles, brain, lungs, digestive system, in a way that I knew I could explain to my toddlers. The text of this book is more geared toward keeping a body active, but I used it for a different purpose and it still worked great.

Not just a fitness book but also an anatomy overview. Best for kindergarten/younger elementary based upon the detail with the anatomy--skeleton, muscles, brains/nerves, lungs, heart/blood vessels and stomach/intestines. Contains quite a bit of information.

This book can be used to teach the students about their bodies and how it works. Kids always want to know how things work. This book breaks down everything about our bodies in a very elementary and fun way.

This book was perfect for explaining how the body works to a very curious Catherine. Both kids were especially delighted with the digestive system diagram -- they found the whole idea hilarious. The skeleton diagram and nutrition page were also very helpful.
