I though this book was beautiful. Simply Beautiful. I loved how the main character, Aurora was so defined by the life that she created around her. After many hurtful changes, Aurora starts to see things differently. Aurora is a girl who loved to live in her safe little bubble. She wakes up everyday and things go the same. Sometimes living in a bubble is not good. We need to get out and get a change. For Aurora, changes means bad things. I love that the reader can see and feel Aurora go through t ...more

I know of a lot of readers who shy away from Independent novels. But they are becoming quite trendy in the publishing industry. One such Indie novel that you should not ignore is AURORA UNDEFINED by Kate Hinderer. It’s a gem of a book. Filled with complicated friendships, budding romance, tenderness and heartache, AURORA UNDEFINED is everything I look for in a contemporary YA novel.

At the center of the story is Aurora, a high school student who has just lost her best friend, Allie, to the popula

With the description of this book there is not much to go on, but I knew from the first page of this book that I would like it. Aurora's main struggle on the eve of her senior year is being dumped of her best friend since freshman year Allie, for the popular crowd. Both girls have yearned for the popular crowd (what girl doesn't in high school), but Allie was chosen and Aurora was sure Allie would bring her with her or at least change her mind and come back to being her best friend but that hasn ...more

Title Thoughts: I love the crafty title that really fits the book and it goes perfectly with the ending.
Cover Thoughts: I like it, but not sure it relates to the story.

I loved this book. Aurora Undefined is about Aurora finding out who she is and defining it for herself. I wasn't sure how I would end up liking the book at first because Ror likes a guy who for the most part doesn't pay her any attention. She wants to be in the cool crowd and I was t

My rating: 3.5/5

Aurora is devastated by the sudden loss of her best friend of three years when Allie drops her for the popular crowd. What she doesn't realize is that her year is about to get a lot worse. When tragedy strikes, she will have to learn what it means to to c

Aurora Undefined was a sweet read, although it took me a few chapters to really get into. Aurora's whole existence is uncertain as the new school year approaches, because her best friend has left her for the popular crowd. It's almost as though the last three years of friendship between them never existed. In this respect, I was a little peeved with Aurora because she was such a smart girl! However I stepped back, remembered that this book is meant for younger readers than I, and thought about h ...more

This is one of those beautiful reads that everyone needs to get a hold of in their reading careers. The story is beautifully simplistic yet monumentally provoking when it comes to your emotions.

I love Aurora. At first, I was a little hesitant because she did seem immature and selfish, but she grew throughout the story and ended up growing on me as well. Her realizations through the novel that she's not defined by others is something that a lot of teens need to know and realize - it's a strong me

Aurora has spent her entire summer worrying about her senior year. Her best friend, Allie, basically dumped her for the popular crowd at the end of their junior year. Not cool Allie, not cool. Poor Aurora is facing her last year of high school without her best friend by her side. It is no wonder she is so depressed.

It gets worse. A tragedy strikes mid-book that sets Aurora off into an emotional breakdown. While her reaction is expected, it is just so sad to read about. Maybe too sad for me.

Beautiful. I throughly enjoyed the story and I hope that Kate Hinderer will continue to write as an author. I fell in love with the characters, and the only thing I would have wanted more of was Hudson! One of the better indie author books I have read. :)

This is my book, so I might be a little biased in the ratings. But it is the story of a typical high school senior who is experiencing a change in her friendships. Then tragedy strikes and she is forced to re-evaluate everything she thought was important and put her life back together again.

Kate is a journalist by profession. Her work has appeared in a variety of publications. She started writing stories and novelettes in 7th grade. Her teachers thought she was copiously taking notes, but really she was penning stories about her classmates. That passion only increased in high school. The stories became longer and the passion for writing was deeply ingrained. As a junior she resurrect ...more
