I thought this book was just ok. The writing was atrocious in places. The training class in NY started out being mid November to early December, but ended up being the 1st 3 weeks in November. And in some places it said it was 6 weeks. Then, the "voice" of the little girl, Sierra, was just a bit too young for a bright 2nd grader. The author seemed to want to make her out like Junie B Jones, but Junie B is in kindergarten. When Sierra is thinking she says things like, "I did ...more

I enjoyed reading this book, although I found it a bit predictable and figured out what was going to happen in the book before getting to the end.
After the tragic loss of her husband on 9/11, Jamie Bryan has to learn what it is like to live without a spouse and takes on trying to heal as well as being a single parent. She wonders if she will ever be able to love again and lives daily in the shadow of memories that make it difficult for that healing to begin. After the 9/11 tragedy, Jamie...more

The first book series I have read by Karen Kingsbury. This is a sequel to One Tuesday Morning. It has been three years since the September 11 attack. Jamie Bryan, a widow, is not doing much better coping with her grief but, is now volunteering at St. Paul's a chapel across the street from the Twin Towers. She feels a connection to men she meets there. One a firefighter like her husband and the other a LA policeman and brother of Eric Michaels the man she took care of for three months under ...more

I enjoyed this story, although again the coincidences are a little hard to take. Three bad guys attempt to abduct Jamie in broad daylight on the ferry, but thankfully two policemen are standing right there, one of whom is the brother of the man who'd had amnesia who'd been mistakenly identified as Jamie's husband Jake. Hmmmmm. That stretches my credibility a bit too far. Still, it was certainly readable, and I cared for the characters enough to hope that they would find healing for their pai...more

"Life's a fragile thing…September 11 taught us that…For those of us who remain – all of us touched by that day, we need to find strength and hope in Christ, and to do the thing He asks us to do." So states one of the main characters of Karen Kingsbury's novel, Beyond Tuesday Morning, a heartwrenching look at the survivors of the greatest terrorist attack America has ever known.

Quite honestly, like most Americans, I had put the horror of 9/11 behind me. I had not forgotten –...more

I read this because it was the sequel to "One Tuesday Morning." I still haven't found any Christian fiction writers who can get beyond spelling out their message except Jan Karon. Although I wouldn't call my faith profound, I certainly did not arrive at it just by hearing the Word. Interspersing the message with the story tends to make the story not flow as well. However, I have to admit most fiction does nothing for me anyway: I don't like trite conversation and descriptions.

As with most series, the first was better... but this one surely didn't disappoint. As sequels go, I was wonderful! This book answered a lot of questions that I had after reading the first book... mainly my "what ifs". Ms. Kingsbury has done a beautiful job telling a story that is sure to leave you with happy tears in your eyes. She does such an amazing job with her God-given talent that you can easily get pictures in your mind's eye of how everybody and everythign look. She leave...more

I didn't know this was a second book in a series but I did read it because it was a gift and on my shelf. I had no idea what to expect and was heart taken to find it's about a women who lost her husband in the twin towers and has taken her time to pray and listen to other survivors in a small church just down from the twin towers. I remember that day but just vagely now that it's been nine years and we are still fighting for those lives that were lost.

Loved the book just as much as the first one, the characters were easy to love and relate to being just everyday people. They had extrodinary faith that leaves me to really reflect on my faith and what I teach to my children could be so much more.

Story line was quaint and interesting, kept you guessing on how each one would react in the situation that just kept twisting and turning. Laughed and cried in the first and second book.

I'll definitely read another Christian F...more

This good story was a sequel to the 9/11 first story and then went on to tie up some of the relationship issues started in the first book. Some of it was pretty predicable but it really did hold my interest. Can't help but like the characters too. Jamie Byron, Eric Micheals, Clay Michaels (shockingly brother of Eric) and how Jamie's heart moves beyond grief and she is able to heal as well as the other widows from 9/11.

The sequal to ONE TUESDAY MORNING is just as amazing and touching as the first. BEYOND TUESDAY MORNING brought so much joy, happiness and triumph all at once. It follows the lives of Jamie Bryan after Jake, her firefighter husband was killed in the Septemeber 11th attacks. I read it in one day, it's a book (and series for that matter that you can't put down. Gotta love everything by Karen Kingsbury :D

As the sequel to One Tuesday Morning, I was curious to read to the end of the story. Major tragedy leads to happiness in a set of almost unbelievable circumstances. I will admit this was a page-turner that kept me engaged from Orlando to Denver. My mom is keeping me on track with some other Kingsbury novels. I'll be curious to compare those to this story. I hope the narrative is vibrant and not formulaic.

I liked reading more about the characters from "One Tuesday Morning", but this sequel was much less believable. Having a nine year old daughter, made the 7 year old girl in the book very unbelievable. I just didn't think the things she said and did were very realistic. It's light, entertaining, good reading for this waiting period before baby is born when I needed something lighter.

well this one made me see how I have given no regard to the damaged people left from events of sept 11th, and how people are still struggling to deal with those who are gone. It also made me realise how quickly, as Christians even, we are to blame God for not stepping in to change situations or loved ones from bad situations. I definately felt changed after reading this one.

This is the second in the Tuesday Morning series by Karen Kingsbury.

The book starts three years after 9/11 and tells how the main character and her daughter are moving on, or more appropriately, how they are not.

Of course there is a dreamy man, a twist, a conflict, and overall a happy ending.

It was a quick, easy, enjoyable read. I plan to read the third book as soon as I can get it!

This was a great book that leaves you feeling uplifted and hopeful, even though the backdrop is the story of the characters' lives after 9/11. The surprising positive idea that a successful, good looking Christian man can be out there looking for a woman who also believes in God, is a great mood lifter! Now, I need to read #1 and #3.....

I really enjoy Karen Kingsbury books. This is the second one I have ready (the first was the prequel to this novel) and I enjoy the simplicity of her writing. I also enjoy the Christian themes in her novels. This is the second book in the 9/11 series and was quite good although predictable, but in a good way :)

The second book in a 9/11 trilogy. I really enjoyed this storyline. The characters are very likable. Kind of like you wouldn't mind being friends with them IRL. Faith is woven throughout. Sometimes I wondered if parts were very realistic, but in the end, it didn't really matter. It's fiction after all! It's romance. It deals with human sorrow, pain, joy and hope. All in a context of Christian faith. No scandalous surprises. Just a good story.

I loved this book, a sequel to One Tuesday Morning, which I also loved. The coincidences are at best improbable, but the characters are delightfully and believably human and of course the book ends exactly as we hoped. It isn't likely to go down as great literature, but was definitely a good read and I would recommend it highly.
Rebecca
Great book! I didn't get as emotional reading this book as I did with the first book in this series probably because the story had moved past 9/11.

If you're wondering what happened to the characters after One Tuesday like I did, then this is a must read.

This sequel to One Tuesday Morning was even better than the first book in the series, in my opinion. I found it emotionally draining in certain chapters, but not nearly as much as the previous story. It very realistically demonstrates how difficult it is to "choose life" after a tragedy, and what an emotional roller coaster that is. Karen Kingsbury also reminds you through her storyline that God has a plan for our lives, even during the times we don't understand the "whys" of...more

The writing was inconsistent and the story improbable. I forced myself to read it to the end, but was bitterly disappointed. The story is predictable and mostly unmoving. There are a few things, but I wouldn't recommend it.

After reading One Tuesday Morning, I couldn't wait to jump into Beyond Tuesday Morning. A great read and a great story. Tuesday Morning was my first Karen Kingsbury book but I know I will be reading more of her work.

it was easy to read and enjoyable at the same time, A woman learns to love again after the tragic and heroic death of her husband, by trying to bury her pain in helping others she finds love also.
Andrea
The preachiness of this story was a bit overwhelming, but the rest of the story was enjoyable. The main character lost her firefighter husband on 9/11, and has been trying to deal with the loss.

WOW! I loved how this story turned out!!! I was at the edge of my bed reading the whole time!!! I love the way they pray and feel scripture come to mind. My goal is to work on memorizing more scripture so I can do that too!

Excellent book! First book I read of Karen Kingsbury and I was hooked as a fan and friend! Loved the story line... Couldn't put it down, cried a lot, could identify with the story line.
Nellie
It was a great story about greiving and overcoming loss...however, I thought part of the premise was unreal. (Maybe slightly impossible) But still fun and entertaining.
I would recommend it.
James Preston
This book, like the previous one, is terrific. It is wonderfully entertaining, gripping to the very end, and powerfully moving. As you read, it's like you are living it.
