My kids LOVED Thomas the Tank Engine. The pictures in this book are great - so colorful and welcoming. What kid wouldn't like them? (except the train engines have faces...which is weird, I know.) These books are great at teaching numbers ( all of the engines are numbered), colors, counting, and classifying objects. They are fun read-alouds. Kids love to look at them after they've heard the story.
(7 year old) "I liked it a lot but I was kinda sad because he didn't know anyone was going to do his birthday party. But it turned out okay, 'cause he figured out that at the end of the day his friends came. I liked the end more than the begining. I didn't like his sad face, but it was kinda silly."
My son and I read this together. It is a Step into Reading Step 2 book. It is great for early readers. I would definately recomend this title.
