Several things about this book were firsts for me. #1 - I don't usually stay with a story that has a long 'set-up' with multiple characters. The main reasons is because by the time I've gotten to the point in the book where the story really begins, I'm exhausted and just don't care anymore. BUT, in this case, author Paige Agnew cleverly introduced a few weird events early on that kept me reading. When I'd reach the half-way point in the book, I was exhausted, and my resolve began to weaken. The...more

Can you believe that I'm actually having trouble writing this review? I don't want to tear down this author's work since she is a young author and I really want to support young authors (that's the reason why I agreed to review this book), but I'm trying to be as honest here as possible. I am going to start with the negatives and then the positives of Seven: Seven Strangers One Purpose. This review is going to be longer and more detailed than I had thought of writing, but please bear with me.

Frankly speaking, I love how the book was written At first, I thought the book will be boring because I expected that it would be difficult to relate seven strangers together and make them as the center of the story attraction. But I was proven wrong. Even though it may be not the best book ever written, I kind of impressed with the young author. I've read her "Starless Sky' last year and like it very much. Like her previous book, Agnew put an intense storyline, a little of mysteries as well as...more

I thought the character development was great. However, I felt that the second half of the novel, especially the end, felt a little rushed. The story line was fast paced and kept the reader intrigued but I really wish there was a little more time taken explining the "social experiments" and Sevens motives for doing the things that he does.
