A great book, really a guide for interdisciplinary cultural analysis in the humanities. Bal considers methods to be concepts, and analyses how different concepts (meaning, myth, metaphor, narrative) travel across disciplines such as art history, visual studies, literary criticism, cultural studies, etc.
