Redemption is a powerful thing but it comes at a price. Rose wakes up after being in a coma with one thing on her mind - Gabriel Caine. Almost dying can give you a new perspective on life and Rose made a deal that she gets a new life if she saves Gabriel. Now all she has to do is find him and save him, no big deal right - wrong. Gabriel looks like a "dark angel, messed up, beautiful" (nice quote Christine)and more than capable of defending himself against any foe. He is a Tribred and part human,...more

Demon Soul is the story of Rose Walters, an ex druggie sent back to earth for one final chance at redemption. Sent back with a fire demon living inside her and the gift of being a soul chalice. Her duty with being sent back is to save Gabriel Cane who has had part of his soul stolen.

The story was easy to follow and very enjoyable. I liked the idea of the vampire club and the introduction of Werewolves, fae and tribreds. Each species...more

Demon Soul by Christine Ashworth isn’t run-of-the-mill paranormal. Ashworth has taken the genre and given it refreshingly original treatment. We have Rose Walters, who has made a bit of a mess of her life so far and nearly died, being given a chance to come back so she can save Gabriel Caine. Gabriel and his brother Justin are suspicious of her at first as they can sense that she is more than human now. So is Gabriel. He and Justin are tribreds, a mixture of human, demon and fae. Throw in Gabrie...more

I really enjoyed this book. In fact, it was the first book in a very long time I actually couldn't wait to get home from the day job to dive back into. Mostly, I know exactly where/how they're going to end - with this, I was on the edge of my seat.

At first, I didn't want to read/think about demons, thinking demon = bad/evil/wrong, but after reading some interviews with the author, who discussed how she sees daimons as more a paranormal creature that can be good OR evil, I thought I'd give it a t...more

Rose is yelling for Gabriel, a man she never met. He shows up and is tall, handsome, and darkly mysterious. She wasn't yelling except in her mind and she was broadcasting so loudly that he showed up--along with a couple of demons. As Gabriel quickly dispatches them, this is Rose's first inkling that the world is filled with creatures she never met or heard of. That coupled with the fact that Rose died and then was sent back to earth alive to save Gabriel. And thus begins the whole, edge of your...more

I LOVE paranormal and I’ve read just about everything paranormal, except demon books. Why? Well, when I think demon, I think traditional Hollywood stereotypes. Hellfire, brimstone, hulking blackened creatures lacking souls or any other redeeming qualities. And truthfully how could the smell of rotting eggs ever be considered sexy. So I’ve avoided them. Until now.

What’s so different about Demon Soul that I would dare venture into a demon tale? Actually, it’s right there in the title. Christine As...more

Before dawn, Rose Walters wanders into a Santa Monica strip mall, broke but for the clothes on her back and shoes that her feet are bleeding in after an eight mile walk. She repeats “Gabriel Caine” silently, right up until the moment she’s approached by the man himself. She’s dismayed to find a man whose twice her size and can read her thoughts as if she’s speaking out loud. How she is supposed to rescue him? That is what she was sent back to Earth to do. Still, Gabriel accepts there’s something...more

S,E,R's Awesomness!

Rose Walters, had been stuck in coma wondering the gray of the in-between. She was offered a chance to come back to life to rescue a Gabriel Caine and prevent his death. She accepted the task without hesitation and no questions asked. She doesn't know what she's coming back to life as, and is only clear on saving this person.Well isn't that interesting! Rose's eyes are opened up to a whole new world she never knew existed.

Gabriel Caine, thinks Rose is full of herself,...more

Demon Soul was a wonderfully different paranormal adventure and romance. It will be hard not for me to give away too much of the story by telling you all the things I loved about this book, so I am going to be very vague. Rose was such an interesting character. Seeing who she used to be, who she turned into and why, and then who she transformed to was fascinating, especially since we first met her part way through her journey. The Caine family has their own set of intrigues. I do have to say (so...more

If it’s paranormal than it’s usually right up my alley. In the world of Demon Soul we get to explore all kinds of demons and supernatural beings, but thankfully they are not your sterotypical lot. Christine Ashworth gives them depth and interest that makes it hard for you to put the book down. At the very core our main heroes, the Cain family, are human, with human faults, needs and desires. Why do I say they are human? Because they are tribreds, a mix of human, demon and fae. Our leading lady,...more

Demon Soul by Christine Ashworth introduced a new world where vampires, witches, demons, werewolves, fae and tribreds exist. The journey throughout this book is very easy to follow and it captures the reader from the first chapter. The point of view changes with each character making it much more enjoyable to read.

The characters each had their own unique personality that was fun to follow along with. The conflict with each character you encounter makes the reader feel for each of the characters...more

Demon Soul grabbed my attention and wouldn't let go. The characters were funny, strong, and hot! Just the way I like them. Ashworth delivered a plot that kept me gripping the pages and cursing any interruptions that drew me away. With Rose's broken past and refusal to quit, I fell for this heroine and enjoyed sitting in her shoes for the length of the book, especially when she played with the hottie, Gabriel! Yum! Now, I'll take that demon on any day. Truly a riveting story of love, denial, hear...more

I going to be totally honest. I liked this book, BUT it was not for me. The only reason why it was not for me was because I'm still a teen. That's all.
I'm sure if I read it in a few years, i would love it.
The characters are likeable. I liked Justin and Gabriel, I also liked Maggie - she seems to be cool.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes Adult Paranormal.

I absolutely LOVED this book!!! I couldn't put it down. Christine Ashworth is a superb writer and Demon Soul's plot will keep you on edge into the wee hours of the night. The hot guys and steamy scenes didn't hurt either. ;) I can't wait for Justin & Maggie's book!

Paranormal isn't my usual reading preference, but I must say Christine Ashworth has grand storytelling style and there were some passages so beautifully written I read them a few times. The author snuck in lots of humor along with poignant moments amidst all that vamp and shifter action. Well done.

I loved reading Demon Soul! The story kept me on the edge of my seat, and at the same time I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Rose and Gabriel are an engaging couple and I love that they both have difficult pasts. The characterization is great and there's solid reasoning behind their world views. These characters have a lot of depth. The world building is engaging and I can't wait to read more about Gabriel's family! I hope this is a series.

I'd definitely recommend this to paranormal lovers w...more

This is such a cool book, maybe because I absolutely fell in love with the Caine family. A family of paranormal mixbreeds that had their lives shattered with the loss of Gabriel's mother. Estranged by tragedy, this story brings them back to fight a common enemy. Nothing is thicker than blood. Ms. Ashworth did a fabulous job creating a romance between the hero, Gabriel, and heroine, Rose. I promise you will fall in love with them too. Can't wait for the story to continue!!

I really enjoyed this book. Such an intriguing premise. I immediately bonded with the characters and was taken on an adventure in which I felt all the emotions of the characters. I love that in a book. Christine Ashworth did a great job pulling me in to the story!
