The author admits that this story began as a short piece of fan fiction, kind of Remington Steele meets Dark Shadows. The final result is more thoroughly developed and better than fan fiction, but I still can only give it three stars. This was a great little book. I finished it one sitting. It started off as a minor mystery novel with very little mystery but soon evolved into something truly good. Ms. Moore does a great job detailing the environment and characters in a very clear cinematic style and I could easily see this being a TV show.
