I never took the AP US History exam, but my Senior son did and he scored a 3. He said it was one of the most difficult tests he had ever taken. He studied AP US History 1 his Freshman year and then AP US History 2 his Sophomore year, and even with all that time on tests, papers, class attendance and reading the text he still only got a 3.

This book takes the tests from the past and evaluates them and then decides on the topics that generate the most questions. The chapters are broken up into the...more

Such a helpful guide. I utilized this book throughout the year to prepare for quizzes, tests, and essays. It provides a to-the-point review of essentially everything you need to know for the AP exam and the SAT subject test. The information is presented in several series of organized outlines, and in the back it has the quintessential people, movements, etc. you need to know. Although this book may not go into depth about every single subject, I highly recommend purchasing it to reference facts...more

This book was very helpful for studying for the APUSH exam. It covers the topics my teacher discussed in class and some others we didnt have time for. The more DBQ's you know, the better uphill do on the exam. It was a compact book (now it's really worn out since I've used it so much) and basically supplied the same information...more

This is a very well-written book, not just for those who are getting ready to take the AP exam but for those entering college as an older student as well. Of course, most of the material is geared toward those about to take the exam, but I can easily see this helping me with my own history courses that I am currently enrolled in. I especially like how the history was broken down and explained in an easy-to-learn fashion, instead of just droning on and on (as history books sometimes seem to do)....more

This is a wonderful study guide. Instead of trying to teach you everything about every period covered by these tests, it only focuses on the highlights, which it presents in easy-to-read bullet points. The book also breaks down how the tests will be laid out, explains how this book is different from other books and gives you a study plan to work off of. The thing that I found most interesting was that the book also provides things that didn't happen during particular period, such as the pre-Colu...more
