When we hear the name J.M. Barrie, "Peter Pan" immediately comes to mind. It turns out, he has many more equally entertaining works to his credit. "The Twelve-Pound Look" examines a serious topic in a comical way. Even the stage directions are hilarious to read. I admire his use of sarcasm and wit to make a strong and relevant point.

Delightful play in which I had the good fortune to perform in as Kate, the liberated typist! Quite ahead of its time - Barrie writes a funny and witty homage to the forward thinking female!!
I really liked The Twelve-Pound Look and almost chose it for my senior capstone project, but ended up going in a different direction. Maybe someday..
A very interesting play that hints that money can't buy everything.
