The vampires want it. The demons want it, too. And someone is willing to kill Val for it.

Val and Fang have to find the powerful Encyclopedia Magicka before either of San Antonio's warring underworld factions locate it or the consequences will be deadly for the entire city. As usual, Val's vampire enemies (they still call her The Slayer) want her dead. Even some of her fell

This again picks up just a couple of days later from the other book. So it is pretty seamless reading from one to the next. Val and Shade are an item. Dan and Nicole are an item. The encyclopedias are still missing and she is now on retainer to Alejandro. The movement vamps and the unaffiliated are still at war with eachother and demon/vamp relations are still ambiguous. In this book we have a demon, Trevor, turn up from L.A. claiming he is the keeper of the books and heard them "awaken" when Va...more

Sometimes you ask for something...and the author actually grants your wish! After reading Bite Me recently, I noted that the series would be a lot more fun if Val, who is a vampire-slaying part-succubus, actually got a decent boyfriend. I'm happy to say that in the second and third installments in the series, Val breaks up with the honorable but boring Dan and hooks up with someone much more interesting.

And that someone is Shade, a fascinating shadow demon who has transparent skin that shows the...more

I received this series as a three book package deal from Netgalley, so I'm going to review it as such. Surprisingly, I had never heard of this series but I was drawn to it because it is about vampires and I rarely turn down a book that is about vampires or werewolves. I am so glad that I requested this as I absolutely loved it. It's not just about vampires, but demons too. One of those demons is our fabulous protag, Val Shapiro, otherwise known as The Slayer, who is 1/8 succubus.

QUICK THOUGHTS:
Val isn’t your normal 18 year old girl, she’s half demon and a lust one at that. She is also known as the Slayer in the vampire world, she has fought and taken down many evil vampires. This time around she is looking for a missing book, trying to figure out her new relationship with her sh...more

I waited so long to read this book... maybe 2 years? And maybe it's maturity and gaining more of a critical scope to see my literature with or maybe it just was subpar, but this book wasn't as good as the other two. Major events were so anticlimactic like (view spoiler)...more

In "Fang Me," we pick up not long after Try Me left off. Due to the mistakes made by certain members of the DU (Demon underground), Val is left working for the Vampire leader of the New Blood Movement, Alejandro, in order to settle the debt owed to them and to fill the promises made.

Val's Mission: discover the location of the Encyclopedia Magicka at all costs, lest it fall into the wrong hands. This becomes increasingly more difficult when the supposed 'keeper' of the books, Trevor Jackson, sh...more

I received this book as a courtesy from netgalley.com; however, my review is unbiased and based upon my true feelings about the book.

"Fang Me" is another exceptional read in the Demon Underground series. In this installment Val is now under contract to work for Alejandro, vampire and leader of the New Blood movement. In addition, she is struggling with her succubus side, Lola. She has discovered that if she loses her virginity, she will also lose her strength, speed and other slayer abilities. T...more

This book was FAN-freakin-TASTIC! I was already totally loving this series, and this book just totally was chalk full of great stuff!

The whole stay virgin/keep superhuman strength and speed vs. find true love and give in to pressures of having sex was really cool. I was hoping that Blue would find a way to allow Val to "have her cake and eat it too"...boy does she ever, but not in the way you'd think. You'll have to read it to understand! FANTASTIC!

This book introduces a totally new type of dem...more

Val is a girl that keeps her word, even if it was a in the spurt of the moment and not well thought, and now she is working for Alejandro until the Encyclopedia Magika that was stolen is found. That and keeping Lola from getting her way with Shade should be enough, yeah I thought so too... but you see the keeper from the Encyclopedia has come to take the books back and start working again and well... there is some friction between the two of them because Val can't shake the feeling that there is...more

This series is one of my favourites, and this, the third book certainly kept me entertained, and I was especially pleased to learn that there will be a fourth book in Spring 2012!!

The book is the continuing adventure of part succubus demon Val Shapiro and her faithful hellhound sidekick Fang (who I just adore).

In this book Val and her demon friends are trying to trace some very powerful books that have gone missing, not knowing how to find them, how much power they have, or who they can trust.

Val Shapiro is 1/8th Succubus Demon, she has incredible strength, speed, as well as her other senses being enhanced. Oh...and the occasional man being uncontrollably filled with lust around her. All of these bonuses to her life make her the perfect vampire slayer / Special Crimes Unit operative / member of the Demon Underground / and Vampire Mediator.

I found this series thoroughly delightful. The world and character building were very well done. It made me want to visit San Antonio...and I don'...more

Unlike book #2 which launched a completely new, different story from the first book, Fang Me continues with the same events of Try Me. Now established in roles and relationships, the characters of the Demon Underground novels have a continuing mystery to solve, in addition to a new unknown, unaffiliated demon in San Antonio. Pretty much on par stylistically with the first two, Fang Me continues Parker Blue's three-book-long streak of fun, easy and a...more

Terrific third book in a superb YA urban-fantasy series

Eighteen-year-old Val Shapiro is one-eighth succubus demon. She and her sidekick, Fang, a half-terrier, half-hellhound dog who can talk to her telepathically, are still searching frantically for the enormously powerful Encyclopedia Magicka. They must locate it before either of the warring factions of vampires and part-demon humans within the city of San Antonio get their hands on it. If Val and Fang fail, there will be dire consequences for...more

I have enjoyed this entire series much more than I originally expected that I would have. Namely because vamp books in the current YA market seem to be trying to ride the coat-tails of Twilight with ridiculous and shallow romance and even more shallow plot.

Parker Blue has blown all that away with her series, proving that you can write an interesting YA vamp novel in this day and age.

Val is an interesting heroine who is supported by a lovely and colorful cast of characters who make her life easie...more

Wow I didn’t sleep at all last night. I stayed up reading Fang Me. There is so much going on in this book you will not be disappointed. A new character is introduced in this book and he’s a sketchy character but so interesting. Parker does a great job with making you very curious about him and his motives and what he is. I spent half the time reading looking for clues about whether he was good or bad.

The action is constant in this book. There is one conflict after another as everyone rushes to f...more

I feel like after three books, I should at least say something about the series, so here's my two cents -- I really, really, REALLY enjoy these books. The main character, Val, reminds me a little of one of my favorite heroins out there, which is always a plus.
Not to mention her dog. That dog is hilarious, and I want one for myself.
The only problem I can find in these books are the beginnings. The first one started out great, the middle was excellent, then the ending was a little lacking, so it g...more

I was able to get the first three copies of the Demon Underground series through Netgalley as a package deal, "Bite Me", "Try Me", and "Fang Me". I believe the fourth book, "Make Me" is supposed to come out sometime in Spring, 2012. I actually really enjoyed the series. When I first got the books, and I saw the titles and also the fact that the main character, Val, is supposed to be a 1/8 succubus demon (lust demon), I thought for sure, this would be one of those urban fantasy, erotic books. It...more

This is the 3rd book in the series Demon Underground. So far I have enjoyed it and look forward to reading the next book when it comes out.
Val is still looking for the stolen book. But because she worded a promise wrong she is now working for the good vampires till they are found.
There is someone new to the series from LA underground Trevor who is keeper of the books. His father was keeper before him and was put in the book with magic. He warns that mage demon will want the books bad. He...more

Another clever title and amazing cover to carry on the series. I have honestly never written reviews for more than one book in a series, so I am not sure if there is anything new I can add on with regards to the author's writing and style, it was just as good, clever, witty, and funny. It was flowing and easy to read and I loved seeing more of the characters, especially the vampires.

Val finally has a boyfriend, yet, just her luck she can't actually close the deal with him or get any close becaus...more

Fang Me is the third installment in the Demon Underground series and features our favorite 1/8th succubus demon, Val Shapiro. At this point, Val has really become a voice of reason trusted by both vampires and demons alike. She has friends in the demon community, including hot demon boyfriend Shade and her mentor/cousin Micah, plus she's become involved in the vampire movement and is temporarily working for their leader. She's also started to embrace her inner demon and realize that "Lola" isn't...more

Val Shapiro slakes the succubus part of her person by stabbing vampires – making the world safe for humans. Learning to live with her inner demon has isolated Val from the rest of the world, so she is scared and excited to find out that she isn’t the only one. Val and other members of the Demon Underground navigate a world in which demons just want to blend in; Vampires want to “come out;” and part demon dogs can talk to other demons telepathically.

Val’s character grows and changes through the...more

Fang Me by Parker Blue is the third book in the Demon Underground series. Val Shapiro is the “The Slayer,” who is on a new mission, to find the Encyclopedia Magicka, before they fall into the wrong hands. Her biggest challenge, besides finding Encyclopedia Magicka, is trying to keep her feelings for Shade under control. This is not easy, being part succubus demon. A succubus feeds on sexual energy, and has the power to enthrall men. The problem is if Val is not careful, her succubus may kill any...more

I received an ebook review copy with Bite Me, Try Me and Fang Me from netgalley.

Favorite Lines: ” It was really nice to have an excuse to hold onto Shade, especially with Lola out of commission. Made me feel like a normal girl on a date with her boyfriend. Even Fang was quiet for a change. Closing my eyes, I enjoyed the sensation of being warmed against Shade’s body, feeling safe and cared for.” (p. 534)

Val made an agreement in Try Me and it’s time for her to pay up. To do so she must interact...more

Im torn between a five and a four, but i'll just go with four since there IS some flaws in the book that i've picked up while reading but i just cant remember it now.

Val needs to find the Encyclopedia Magicka 1)to save the book from landing into the wrong hands=world destruction or sth, 2)to end the contract that she made with Alejandro, the head of the good vamps. But along the way, some half-demon who's mind Fang cant read(the only one who Fang cant read)comes along and announces that he is th...more

In Book III of the Demon Underground series, readers will once again be swept away into the world of vampires (good and bad, of course). They will once again follow the Slayer who is half human (with a little bit of succubus added in for good measure), who is doing her job and trying to ferret out evil.

Valentine Shapiro is the Slayer. A long time ago she realized that there was yet another person inside of her that she has dubbed, Lola. Lola has an immense sexual appetite and has the ability to...more

Who is Parker Blue? Well, I live in Colorado Springs with my dog, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Val's part-hellhound mutt, Fang.

I hate writing bios so that's all you're gonna get. Okay, okay. Instead of more boring bio stuff, how about some of my likes and dislikes?

Stuff I love, in no particular order:

- The color red—a bright, orange-red just makes me happy.
- Shiny things. I must have been...more
