I love this book. I mean, in general I love Dr. Seuss and all, but this one really touched me and its the only one I own of his.
I bought this and it came just as I had my two lower wisdom teeth removed. Lets just say there were a few complications and I was stuck in bed for over a week eating baby food and ground up things (have you ever had meat ground up in the food processor..ICK!) and my mom would read things to me. And this is one of the things she would read. It was so fantasitc.

I just had to add this book because it is seriously one of my favorite children's books ever, if not the favorite! Children's books should be fun to read out loud, and this is so much fun to read! I was given this book on my high school graduation day by my mom. I cannot think of a better book for children, people graduating ANYTHING, people who are opening a chapter in their life, or even those who may have just closed one. I still look back to this book when I need a a fresh pair of eyes in which to view the world.

Awesome book, BUT

When my sister graduated from her fancy shmancy Ivy League school, the head of the dept of Energy gave the commencement speech.

The bonehead TOTALLY based the speech on this book.

'OH, THE PLACES YOU'LL GO!' is a book that can be interpreted in different ways by different people. Dr. Suess is a childhood-must-read author! Must, must, must! I had read Cat in the Hat, Fox in Sox, and ABC and others so I was surprised that i hadn't heard of Oh, the Places You'll Go until the year I graduated high school. Look, we all know a lot of would-be readers have been turned off by boring books; I argue that this can happen from the earliest reading. Don’t risk making a book-hater out of any innocent child.

Forgo all “Now I lay me down to sleep” yawns and make sure the pictures are good.

Invest in a collection of Dr. Seuss. Buy and read the kid in your life every one. It’s nigh on impossible to find these used. Pay the $17 bucks. It’s a lifetime investment after all.

It would take me a life's time to absorb everything that this book has to offer. I read this during a pretty uneventful time (last week.) but now whenever I step out the door, I see adventure and places, and scenery in panoramic. I LOVE this book. It's definitely my favorite Dr. Seuss book. This one is inspiring and profound. I can honestly say I like every line but here are some favorites that I really relate to:

This was one of the few Seuss books I did not read as a child. I just read it for the first time tonight to my duaghter, and I was duly impressed. I can see why it is so often given to high schoolers (and even college students) upon graduation. I love that it acknowledges the highs and lows of life--the challenges, the failures, the loneliness-- but all the while encourages readers to press on, and not to simply sit around waiting for something to happen to you.

I was given this book as a going away present in 5th grade when I was leaving for a new school. It is one of the most truthful and just all around fabulous books written about life. I know, I know, that's an intense comment, but you can really get any level of insightfulness out of this book depending on your mood. It can just be a really awesome picture book or your hand book to the future. Either one you pick, or create your own niche, read this book!

Dr. Seuss deserves 5 THOUSAND stars on HIS belly! He's one of my greatest literary heroes of all time--clever, poignant, unique, hilarious. This is by far my ultimate favorite in his collection, but every word the man ever wrote is PHENOMENAL. Honestly, I can't think of any other writer I can say that about. If you haven't read him since you were a kid, READ HIM NOW. There's a lot more to his books than you ever IMAGINED before.

This picture book is another adored work from Dr. Suess. This story not only has great illustrations, it also has catchy lines that rhyme. Adults and children love Dr. Suess stories becuase he uses great colors and he also incorporates poetry.

What am I, a 26 year old man, doing reading kids stories? Well for one it's Dr. Seuss and they're awesome for all ages with their recognisable brand of moral-message, surreal scenarios, and catchy rhymes. And for two I never had any as a kid and I sincerely regret that, especially in the case of this particular story.

Hey, I dunno if it's really a 5-star book, but it's the classic gift to give someone who's achieved something & is moving far away. My sister got one for college, I got one for college and I still remember when Mr. Bennett read it to us in Calc class on our very last day with him. He did the reading real slow and panned the book so we could all see the pictures. What a great guy

Oh, the books you should know! I received this book as a college graduation gift, which I thought was a little odd (Dr. Seuss? Really?) until I read it. Yes, this book can work as another charming picture book for the kids but the true beauty of it is understanding it as an adult.
