Read in July, 2007
First book I've bought new and full-price in several years. Caught short with one book ending and nothing on my person to replace it with, so an old book token went to book token heaven, and I acquired the latest Martin Millar, despite not being completely caught by the blurb on the back. I figure the three-novel collection of his I read several years ago was so damn good, there was little risk that this'd be a rotten tomato.

I'm a hundred pages in and I still don't like the female protagonist, Kalix. And the other characters, except for maybe Dominil and Thrix, are annoying as hell.
*sigh*
I have to learn NOT to pick up books based on recs from authors I like. This one came promoted by Neil Gaiman and the book appears to be hundreds of pages of less-than-riveting multi-character boredom.

getting ready for halloween!!!--what was I thinking? I was getting ready for an Annual Meeting so I didn't get a chance to read it...Since everyone's so crazy about vampires I thought this would be a good alternative...
