This is how you write an academic read. As the majority of academic writing tends to have the entertainment value of a CVS prescription information sheet, Moonshiners and Prohibitionists: The Battle Over Alcohol in Southern Appalachia, was a welcome change. This book is full of primary source data and is so well researched, it is hard to argue with the author's assessments.
