Notorious Nora Sutherlin is famous for her delicious works of erotica, each one more popular with readers than the last. But her latest manuscript is different—more serious, more personal—and she's sure it'll be her breakout book...if it ever sees the light of day.

Zachary Easton holds Nora's fate in his well-manicured hands. The demanding British editor agrees to handle th...more

5 deliciously dark stars

This is not a romance novel……

This is not even your garden variety erotica. What it is, is a deep exploration of the emotions and sexuality of two people who have broken up from the apparent loves of their lives.

I found the style of writing very atmospheric. I felt like I had stepped into an alternate reality where the real world was just a hand’s reach away but separated from me by thick bank of fog. There’s an insular almost echoey quality to it. The world around me fad...more

This is one of the most evocative books I have ever read. It sheds a whole new light on erotic romance, a genre I already liked but now am really looking forward to reading. Erotic Romance authors beware, there's a new author in town.

Bloody hell. I cried....I cried!

I must be the only person who shed tears, not once, but a few times while reading The Siren. What is wrong with me?? The only possibility I could come up for the tears was even though this book doesn't have the happily ever after/fl...more

Original review:
Stunning.
One of the best novels I have ever read.
Not a single formula to be found.
The writing was intelligent without a hint of pretension.
I was impressed with the author's fearless display of the sacred and profane together. She wove in the paradoxes and dilemmas so deftl...more

This is not a romance book...

It is, however, a story about love, friendship, faith and about discovering all your darkest, deepest desires and learning how to deal with them.

When I started reading The Siren, I didn't really have any expectations about how the story would develop or where it all led up to. But after a while, I found myself being more and more enthralled by the storyline and its many different,...more

5 Head Spinning Stars!! Although some of the subject matter in this book was not always comfortable to read about, I was ENTHRALLED and had to keep reading. A book that does that is worth 5 STARS from me and then some!!

They aren't just words. They're memories. I like to read them, hold them in my hands. And then I can let them go.

The Siren is a very well written, compelling story that drew me into the life of thirty-three year old Nora Sutherlin along with the main characters that surround her. As an erotica writer, she has one chance of getting her book published by a reputable publishing company and it al...more

“Romance is sex plus love. Erotica is sex plus fear."... and terrified I was! It is not a pretty story. It's a very complicated almost real life story. There are no obstacles of boulder size, there are Mount Everest size obstacles that ALL characters in this book face.

I loved the story within the story that somewhat loosely paralleled the lives of the main characters. Nora lives and solves her life conundrums through writing. It is her therapy and she is her own p

Adult review for very dark/somewhat taboo erotic content.

"Verbal abuse? Zach, where I come from 'slut' is a term of endearment. Want to see where I come from?"

"No."

And so begins our tale of an erotica writer and her editor...or does it? You might want to throw out your preconceived notions of what to expect with this book because it's doubtful that any of your expectations will be met.

“ Broken love is the most dangerous love. It will slice you open with every touch.”

After I finished reading this book, I took a couple of days to gather my thoughts on how to review this fantastic book! The blurb sets up the foundation of the story, so I’m going to tell you what the blurb doesn’t.

I was only a few pages into reading this book, and Tiffany Reisz’s brilliant voice settled over me and took me from my world in to the world of Nora Sutherlin....more

Edited 12/24/12 - Series reread. Even better the 2nd time. I'm amazed at all the tiny things I missed the first read.

Original review -
I adored The Siren by Tiffany Reisz. The Siren was an emotional ride: I laughed, I cried, I was shocked and surprised. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. I want more!

The Siren is the story of Nora Sutherlin. Nora is a successful erotica writer and she is ready to write her next book. She has enlisted the services of a new editor Zach Easton. Zach’...more

Evocative, thought provoking, powerful read, that will leave your emotions scattered in all directions. Don't think you'll be getting a romance novel here, because this isn't one. It will test you and push your boundaries to see how far you'll stretch. It's a page turner and will have you hooked in no time. LOVED every page of it!

The Siren, #1 of the The Sinners trilogy tells the story of Nora Sutherlin, an erotica writer/ Dominatrix and the interaction with three men in her life:
Zach, the editor of her book
Wes, her very personal assistant
Soren, her ex Dom
This is a dark, sexy, compelling and disturbing read, yet it does not leave me with a disturbing feeling because of the intensity and honesty of the characters. It is a sexual, psychological, loving, tender and harsh journey through different aspects of life. The men v...more

So far, I have read 123 books this year, but THE SIREN has to be my favorite.

But before I tell you why I loved it, I need to say a few things first. I feel like I have to warn people about this book because having preconceived notions about it will definitely make or break it.

This isn’t a romance novel. There is no happy ending. Don’t expect one. There is no wooing. There is sex, yes , but maybe not the kind you are used to reading about.

2 ½ stars. I want emotional connections. This is more about observing the odd.

STORY BRIEF:
Nora was with Soren for 13 years. He tied her, beat her, and left bruises and blood during sex. She likes rough sex. She still loves him, but she left him 5 years ago. To support her herself, she became a Dominatrix at the local S&M club. She ties and beats clients. She has sex with female clients but not male clients.

Nora published several erotic novels. Now she wants to write a higher quality book and...more

Synopsis:
New York. Nora Sutherlin, a successful erotica writer, is trying to sell her latest novel to a respectable publishing house. She thinks it is her best and the most personal book so far and she hopes it will establish her position as a serious, professional writer. The publishers are willing to buy it, and pay her a six-number advance fee, but under one condition: she will revise it with their editor. Nora agrees; in fact she wants the best editor they have because this time she wants to...more

“Nora… the siren and the goddess, the ship and the wine-dark sea.”

Five years after the end of her fantasy, is where the Siren begins, the ”antiromance novel.” The story of Nora and the men in her life

Nora, the Siren

The Siren by Tiffany Reisz is more than just a book to me…so much more…it is more like a Land....a Land where the characters are my neighbors, the scenes are my landscape and the pleasured pain is my own.

In Siren Land the banter is witty, sharp and intelligent. There is Nora, the ‘Switch D/s author who wants to finally be published by the impressive Royal House firm’, Zach the 'ran away from home in more ways than miles' reluctant editor, Wes the live-in virgin 'falling in love with the older w...more

For most of the book, I didn't feel like this was a story but just sort of a window into a larger story. We came in the middle - the question was, we were going to leave before the end?

But I think in the end the main protagonist was Zachary. He was the one who came into the story with the most issues that got resolved in the end. And he got his HEA.

The character I am sort of most concerned about at the end is Wesley. But I think he is most well-grounded of everyone. I think whatever happens, he...more

Recommendation :If you enjoy BDSM books you should really give this one a try. Tiffany Reisz is a compelling author and I think most people would find something they love about this book.

Now Let me illustrate what I hear a lot of about this book:

Nora is crazy, I'd probably go lesbian for her if she were real.. Goodie, one more person fighting for her ;)

this book was confusing yet made perfect sense, like clear as mud ;P
It all revolves around Nora who is an author by day and a Dominatrix by night.

I loved Nora's character. She is witty and smart and can stand with the best of them. Her breakup with Soren takes her back into the world she is familiar with but is now in the leading role.
Zach is a stuck up and staid editor who has a moment of weakness but soon finds his path has been opened up to be happy with his wife.

This year I’ll read somewhere between 130 and 150 books. Most of them will be largely forgotten after a week or so. By the end of 2012 I might remember a handful of shining lights. The Siren will be in that handful.

The Siren is the story of a woman, who uses pain and domination sexually, to both give and receive release. It's an exploration of things taboo, but Tiffany Reisz shines a light into that world and does it so eloquently that I think any reasonable person will both enjoy it and be cha...more

From other reviews, I started reading this book knowing that it is not a typical romance novel. This book is really about the characters and their relationships with Nora, an erotica writer. Zach is her editor who recently separated from his wife. Wesley is her 19 year old "intern" who lives with her and is also a virgin. Soren is her former Dom who owned her for 13ish years. As Nora rewrites her novel, we learn about her past with Soren, her feelings for "vanilla" Wesley and her attraction to Z...more

Where to even start? Just to get one thing straight - I love the book. I just finished it and I'm barely managing to force myself to write this review before I go on and read The Angel. I'll try and be as coherent as possible, but this book has me so conflicted and emotional that it's quite possible I'll simply be rambling. Anyway, on to the review. :D

Nora is a trashy porn hack posing as an erotic writer. This is how Zach feels. Zach is the editor assigned to read Nora's book and make it publishable. What is the world coming to when a distinguished literary editor is forced to truck with some guttersnipe?

This book is the first in the series, even though a novella exposing Nora's relationship with a Dom gave a preview of her complicated life. With much trepidation and under duress, this book was finally read. Fully prepared to hate the book du...more

I have been mildly interested in these books for awhile, and it probably would have been something I would read. I thought it was bad enough when I saw the author praising her own genital piercings and telling people who are uncomfortable with her books subject matter that they are just sex hating prudes.

But now with a twitter rampage, calling paying customer dumb bitches and cunts, yeah this book is firmly on the "don't touch it with a 10 mile pole" list. Anyone who can't treat their readers w...more
