OMG, this was a seriously hot read! Ms. James sure knows how to write steamy love scenes, and I'll never look at a motorcycle the same way I used to do before I read this book... ;)
I'm not going to give a plot summary here because the book description does the job pretty well. The story had a good setup and the mystery/suspense part was interesting, even though I guessed who the villain was pretty easily - that's what happens when you have very few secondary characters. Get ready, ladies! This is a really fun, really erotic novel. The heroine is hysterically funny. The hero is totally yummy….gorgeous bod, long black hair. Need I say more? *big smile*
Kenna Jones is lured to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, SD, by a bogus email from the DEA. There she meets the undercover agent in charge, Drake March. Sparks fly big-time. *grin*

Wow...what's not to love about this book? Sexy hero, smart heroine and some really hot sex...it just doesn't get any better than that! This was a really fast read for me. It immediately snagged my attention and held me hostage until I finished it!
Whew! Thanks for the recommendation girls:)

I think i´m getting spoiled rotten with good reads because this was an ok book but i just couldn´t get through it, not when i know there´s soo many great books just waiting for me to finish this. Might re-read it another time, i usually love biker chicks and alpha males. Here you just get the feeling that Drake and Kenna doesn´t even like each other but have sex anyway and i´m having a hard time understanding where the danger is coming from. He´s DEA and she´s an escort "light" who lost a grant...more
well, we learned that biker books simply do not do it for me in any way shape or form. i ate up James's rough rider series like candy so i figured i'd like this one. not so much. the story was weak. i knew who did what in about 20 mins. i also had a hard time believing that such a smart girl could possibly be THAT naive. who wouldnt assume that her "tour guiding" would be not such a good idea? sit and look pretty on the back of a bike for a grand a day? oh come on now.

This week I found myself in a rut reading wise, and decided to read some books that I had been putting off by some of my favorite authors. One of the first that came to mind was this one Running With the Devil by Lorelei James, and I could literally kick my own ass for putting it off for so long. With this book Lorelei truly shows every bit of her talent as a writer. These characters sucked me in from page one!!!

Yowza...A ride on the wild side indeed! Running with the Devil by Lorelei James reminds me a lot of Jaci Burton’s Wild Riders series. There’s a sexy-as-sin undercover DEA agent posing as a biker badass, a spunky, smart heroine, a biker gang involved with a drug cartel, smokin’ hot sex (including a steamy erotic interlude on a bike), nasty villains, and exciting action, danger, and suspense.

*sigh* pc fail. time to re-write:
I'm LOVE bikes, period. If there's one on the road next to me, I instinctively whip my head around...whether I'm driving or not! :) But even if I wasn't a bike enthusiast, I would still love this book. Whew, this was fun!

Kenna/Kaye was an interesting person, who seems to be trying to come to terms with the dual sides of herself. Drake is just the guy to help her out. They have incredible chemistry right from the first meeting, of course they also can't really stand each other and sharpen their tongues with all the verbal sparring, it is like foreplay for them. But even with all of that they are fun to watch as they try to fight, not very hard, their attraction. This was a fun sexy book filled with motorcycles, a...more
Wonderful writing, as is always true with Lorelei James. This is the first non-Wyoming-cowboy novel of hers that I have read and really liked it. Still that tension-filled and sexually charged context to the conflict and resolution that makes for a good plot and story line. STrong characters and yet Kenna seemed to have that vulnerability that gives her character authenticity. Very good read!
I really enjoyed this book. It was a very good steamy romance. I liked both of the characters and romance was great. My only complaint was that the backstory had too many names to keep track of making it a bit too complicated. I honestly didn't understand exactly what was going on with that part of the story. I almost pulled out a pen & pad of paper to try to keep track of it all!
So frustrated! Bought the book for my Nook...font too small. B&N unable to help. Contacted author, advised to contact publisher. Publisher was very helpful & send me another copy. STILL unable to read! You can't adjust the font on a computer, Nook or Nexus tablet. LOVE all things LJ, but mad I wasted my $ on this.

Np pretense, what it is, is what it is! Wow, hottie Kenna and hottie Drake team up to solve a mystery and both know their attraction is above and beyond that and not part of the job. He worries as he will be onto his next job in the DEA soon and her because this persona is not her, she is a doctorate student, not a sexy biker chick. While they both work things out in their heads, they continue to have fire-worthy, 5 alarm sex, anytime the notion hits them!!
Although Kenna was quite naïve, her chemistry with smoking hot Drake was off the charts. The suspense aspect of this story was really pretty good.
Overall very good story with a lot of steamy love scenes set among the back drop of the decadence that is Sturgis SD and Bike week.

Not the same character and story development as other Lorelei James books I've read, but LJ always delivers the smexy!
It's not fair to rate this book as I haven't finished it. That said I'm obviously not a fan of the first 40% hence shelving it for now.
Too many GOOD books to read and not enough time! I'm going to have to shelf this one as unfinished! Something I very rarely do, but I just don't care enough to finish this one.

3.5 The sex was hot...let me just get that out there right away. But the reason my rating wasn't any higher was that the rest of the story was a bit lacking. The suspense part of it was only semi-interesting and the characters were redundant. They had the same issues from start to finish and they were just average emotionally. Their chemistry? Smokin' hot! That's what kept me interested enough to read the whole thing and get the HEA that was coming. All in all, not as good as her other books in...more
Unfortunate cover much? That cover is why (though I love me some Lorelei James) it took me two years to finally get around to reading RWTH. I liked what I found beyond the cover, though.

A bit about me: When I'm not squirreled away behind my laptop writing fun, sexy, contemporary erotic romances set in the modern day Wild West, I can be found reading everything under the sun, practicing yoga until I’m a pretzel, shootin' my .22, watching the Professional Bull Riders tour on Versus, and running a kid's taxi service, all in the guise of avoiding housework and rustlin' up vittles.
