The only thing I didn't like about it was there were a few eras it skimmed over and the format of the end-of-chapter questions was weird- the answer with explanation was RIGHT beneath the question, so if you accidentally read past choice E, you were reading the answers.

I used this volume as a crash course for American History in preparation for a National Board Certification content knowledge test. Seeing as my focus has been World History for 15 years, I needed to brush up on American History. Overall, this edition offers a condensed version of U.S. events, but it does omit a number of little details that might help certain events connect. It weakest sections include the Jacksonian Era (which I still don't fully understand) and the Jeffersonian Revolution.
