5x5 with a WOW thrown on top

I was so glad that I got to read this! I loved the first book in the series Savor!! She followed that one up with an amazing continuation. Again I'm left with awww come on are you sure there are no more pages?? EEEK! No, it's not too short it's just I wan't more! Megan's writing is beautiful and intense... and action packed!

I just finished the second book of the Warm Delicacy series. While I did enjoy it, I didn't like it as much as the first one.
I felt like the descriptions were very rushed during some situations. For example, when we were told that Claire's (real) mother had given a piece of her humanity so that Claire was born human. It was kinda mentioned quickly, and I was like WTH... shouldn't that have been a bigger deal rather than just a couple-of-lines mention?

I enjoyed 'Savor', but i enjoyed 'Indulge' more. Claire has really come into her own in this sequel and it was just enjoyable to read. I think Claire could have had more of a learning curve into what it takes to be a vampire, but i do understand that it is her nature to approach things head on.

While I enjoyed Savor, I have to say, I loved Indulge. In Indulge, we are introduced to a new cast of characters, the most memorable being Claire’s real parents. I mean, honestly, it’s about time the poor girl gets to meet dear old mom and dad. I never really formed a connection with Claire’s first set of vampire parents; whose names elude me. In Indulge, we are introduced to a new cast of characters, the most memorable being Claire’s real parents. I mean, honestly, it’s about time the poor girl gets to meet dear old mom and dad. I never really formed a connection with Claire’s first set of vampire parents; whose names elude me. Well, obviously they didn’t make a huge impression on me. But, the point I am trying to make is that Claire’s real parents are about a million times better. The reunion scene between the three of them is just amazing.

And let’s talk about Arrick for a second. Shall we? Yes, we shall. Let me just start off by saying when I finished Savor, I was on the fence about both of Claire’s love interests (Dmitry and Arrick). But now, I am a full fledge, card-carrying member of team Arrick. Dmitry who?

I also loved seeing Claire stand on her own two feet. She does a lot of growing up in Indulge and begins to develop more of a spine. After everything that happened to her in Savor, it’s understandable that she wants to become more self-reliant.

But, would you like to know my favorite part of the book? Oh course you do, that’s why you’re reading this. It was easily Naos. Duncan does such an incredible job creating Claire and Arrick’s home city. The vivid imagery is just amazing; I’ve got such a beautiful image in my head. I can only hope that we spend lots of time there in future books.

There were moments of the story that read a bit slow for me. I did find myself skimming bits and pieces, but overall, I really loved the story. I don't want to give any plot points away, but the parts I struggled with were about 3/4's of the way through.

In what I have come to learn is true Megan Duncan fashion, Indulge ends with one heck of a plot-twist. I’ve read three of her books now and with every single ending I was left wanting to know more. Indulge is certainly no exception. You’ll definitely be ready for book three ASAP.(less)

The end of Savor was such a cliffhanger, I immediately purchased Indulge, however I was a bit disappointed. Claire still continues to annoy me, at first glance, she seemed more mature but I didn't believe it. She was trying too hard to prove she's grown and is now a super bad-ass vampire. "Indulge" is another good read from Megan Duncan. In this installment, Clare is nearly killed by her nemesis, Ana and Luka. With the assistance of her blood mate, Arrick she manages to escape and goes to the city of Naos where she meets her birth mother and father, Cathair and Ione (Cat hair.....really?)She discovers that very few vampires have the ability to conceive and carry a baby; yet, her mother managed to do so. I am going to complain about things that annoyed me, but first I have to say that I liked the book so there is my annoyance for things that didn't make sense.
First there were many mistakes .

Indulge is the second book in the Warm Delicacy series. What I love about this series is that each book takes off right after the other ends. I know this for sure because I’ve started the newest and third book in the series, Devour.

What I love about this series is that each book takes off right after the other ends. I know this for sure because I’ve started the newest and third book in the series, Devour.

Claire is taken by Arrick to meet her real family. Her actual vampire mother and father. Yes, she is one of the rare humans who were born from vampire parents. Not only is this rare, she is also doubly rare, because she was than turned by vampires into a vampire herself. So not only does she have her biological parents blood coursing through her, she also has her kidnappers blood and her Blood Guard’s blood mixed in. What does this create? A vampire like nobody has every encountered and with abilities and skills that present themselves during different times and some are still unknown.

Claire is welcomed back to her original home with open arms. She also finds that the townspeople do not feel threatened by the royal vampires, but hold them as equals. This is something very new to Claire who has seen how humans felt about the vampires and some of the vampires felt of the humans in the region she has left behind.

Haunted by Anna and with increasing signs that the Dark is near, Claire learns how to fight. She learns how to hone her vampire senses and how to respond with the abilities her vampire body gives her. She learns basic to advanced movements of battle which proves to be a rather great advantage when the followers of the Dark present themselves before they were expected.

I give this book 3.5 stars. Again, Megan Duncan has created a vampire world that I can enjoy, but not without some bumps here or there. Some of the structure of paragraphs were found to be a bit jumpy and I found myself rereading them, and changing them around a bit to make them work just right. The story did drag a bit, I didn’t find the connection between Claire and Bennet very real and there were other things that just didn’t make me feel like it should have. Do I recommend this book? Absolutely, and not because I received it in exchange for an honest review, but because it’s a good story and connects wonderfully with the story brought to us in Savor.

I read book 1 (Savor) and took part in the blog tour and really enjoyed it. I love Megan Duncan's writing style and her ability to capture your attention and weave you into a whole different world. So of course when she offered me the chance to read this one, I couldn't resist.

FINISHED THIS WITHIN HOURS AFTER THE FIRST BOOK. I totally loved it. Couldn't pry my eyes off my Galaxy S2 until I was done. Funny thing was...I didn't even know I was reading the last sentence on my phone until it wouldn't let me flip any more pages.

Wow! I thought that Savor was such a good book that I got this one as soon as I finished it. I was not disappointed at all. This book was more of everything that the first one was. Like Savor, I found this to be an interesting read. The overall plot is something unique and quite refreshing. However, the grammatical errors and lack of character building spoilt it for me. We don't learn enough about Dmitry or Arrick... Claire is slightly superficial, and to be honest, the book is just too fast paced. This book was an easy read. I enjoyed it, not as much as the first as Savor, but still. In Savor, Robin really balanced out Claire and I missed that in this book and Claires innocence, learning & seeing things for the first time, it was a beautiful thing to behold.

There are a few spelling / grammar / syntax errors that need to be addressed, but they are not enough to cause a problem while reading. Part II of the story of Clair, the newly Turned Princess Vampire.

Summery:
Book 1 kinda set the stage and this book really got you down in the war...between civilized vampires and THE DARK. The royal vampires are civil, considerate and keep to themselves. They do have their political intrigue and are highly territorial. But these vampires have a good relationship with Humans. THE DARK and the other type of Vampire, who lived during the dark ages and are evil, have no morals/ethics and thrive in chaos. Their aim is to defeat the civilized vampires, and destroy Humanity by using them for food.

Clair is something different, She is a hybrid Vampire, born of a vampire and very, very rare thing. She was born for reason and possesses special talent and power. She barely escapes with her life at the end of book 1 and flees with Arrick to the east....to finds out that she has been lied to. That her true family is here. The pieces of the puzzle start to come together. She realizes that this is where she belongs and maybe her feelings for Dmitry are not the same as what she is beginning to have for Arrick.

While Arrick plans to head back to the Noir court to snoop and see what is happening, Clari asks him to search for her friends that she left behind to make sure they are okay. She and Arrick grow closer and he shares with her how frustrated he is that even when he kisses her she thinks of Dmitry. She reminds him you have known me my whole life....I just met you.

While Arrick is gone she trains to fight with Eli and arrives home from a training session to see THE DARK led by Ba'al destroying her home, city and family. She does what she has to do, no matter the outcome, defend and save her family, new friends and home. What she finds is that those powers she is just discovering makes her able to defeat them. Wow, what a fight. These 'THE DARK' warriors are under some spell and vicious. One of them is Anna, who tried to kill her out of jealousy before...only her eyes are all white and she is unaware of her surroundings.

After a long battle, Clair fallows Anna through a time portal and as she is going through she is thinking, I want to be where Arrick is. Apparently this is where she lands....because within minutes she is in his arms and he is once carrying her to safety. She reunites with Robin and her cat and Dmitry.....only they are worn and have also survived a battle with THE DARK. Arrick is unhappy to see Clair hugging Dmitry....but pleased to feel Clair's waning emotional tie with him.

What next? Well, I will have to read book 3 to find out. I enjoyed this book as well as the first. This is a really good story line and I like the characters. Is it deeply emotional? no but just enough to keep me hooked and the world building, battles and intrigue are fantastic. I like the heroine too. She is sweet, feminine, and yet hard, tough and a fighter. I look forward to unraveling more of this great story.

Indulge is the second book in the Warm Delicacy and just as engaging as the first, Savor. These books are a fresh and original take on the vampire genre, telling the story of Claire, a girl with a mysterious past. So why 3 stars? Well i liked the first book alot! The only problem i have with our main character is that she's too accepting. She made a new best friend in under 5 minutes of leaving her old one. She traded parents 3 times and automatically fell inlove with all 3 of them immediately. She's so eager to be loved its almost annoying. "Indulge," by Megan Duncan was a book full of mystery and had very descriptive wording that allowed me to capture what was going on in the book. I would recommend "Indulge" to other readers just for imagination alone. I was able to savor every moment of book 1 and indulge myself with book 2 of the Warm Delicacy series. This is a series I would read again just to catch different details that I may have missed before.

Read this book -- you will not be disappointed :)

Another great story by Megan Duncan.
SPOLIERS..

I enjoyed reading Indulge as much as I enjoyed Savor. There are now mysterious things happening and how is Claire able to control the stones???? I cannot wait for book 3 Devour,hopefully everything will be revealed.
Claire needs to let Dmitry go and allow a relationship to develop between Arrick.
I think maybe Dmitry and Robin have some hidden feelings for each other......

I loved novel 2, not as much as the first novel but it still held me captive. I wanted to love it but I felt like the drama could have been punched up a bit more and I would have liked to see more of the war she fought in. It felt like she became a badass fighter in less than 3 days - I would have liked a little more explanation for that or maybe have her develop her badassedness over a longer period of time.

I cannot believe this book is getting even halfway positive reviews from ANYONE. It is truly horrific. Shallow characters somehow feel intense emotion for one another, moments after meeting. Grammar errors & typos everywhere. I hoped there would be something redeeming about this second book, but if possible, it was actually worse than the first. Very angry at myself for wasting my time on it.

WOW!!!!!! Okay Claire is one of the most badass female characters I have ever read about and I have a feeling she is only going to get even more awesome if you can believe that! At first I was torn between Dmitry and Arrick but after finishing this book I whole heartedly am for Claire and Arrick and of course Robin and Dmitry. I sincerely hope Bennett is still with us because I loved him and i want to read more about him.

This book was good but I didn't really like it as much as the first one. Also I need to say that the ending on this one kind of sucked. I mean really, we weren't given anymore angst or anything. I felt disappointed and frustrated. The rest of the book was pretty tame, there was some funny parts and some kick ass ones but nothing that sent me into a fit of boo-yeahs or giggles.
