I really enjoyed this novella. I haven't been reading much lately because I haven't had time to dig into a full-length suspense book. I'm so glad I found Killer Secrets, a great read for a very busy week.

Eve Newman has always had a "thing" for her brother's friend, Macklin Quinn. Secret is... he has always had a "thing" for her two, however, neither of them have ever acted on their feelings. When Eve, a journalist, gets a tip that leads her to discovering a murder, she is thought of by the killer to be a loose end.

Eve turns to Mac. As a former Marine, he has what it takes to protect her. Feelings bubble to the surface and although they pull away after a searing kiss, they both know that somethi

Killer Secrets follows Eve, a spunky small town reporter who finds herself in the middle of a murder-in-progress. She gets away but knows someone saw her. So who does she run to? Hunky rancher Macklin Quinn.

Between being run off the road to having her car blown up, Eve is placed in lots of danger in a short period of time. I liked that she still wouldn't give up on following the case. It's a novella so the mystery isn't overly complicated but there's enough meat to keep you involved and wonderin

This was another solid read from Katie Reus. I love her characters. Eve is smart and strong, while still having her vulnerable side.

Mac is your typical strong, ex-military, rancher. He's protective, but not stiflingly so and he's got a brain of his own that he's not afraid to use.

What I love about Ms. Reus' books are that she doesn't ever resort to the typical trope of having the helpless female needing the alpha male to come rescue her. Sure, there's a lot of rescuing going on, but it's never

I think the story was too ambitious for the length - the story is only 6 chapters. Eve has a history where the police shoddily handled her parents death, so when she witnesses a murder, she doesn't go to the police, but her brothers friend, Mac. Mac and Eve have been fighting their feelings for each other for years. I wasn't really clear why - Eve says he's not the type to settle down, but that isn't supported by what is in the story. Eve has some TSTL moments. The villains seemed over the top, ...more

Brief rom-sus novella. Nosy reporter receives an anonymous email telling her of nefarious doings, almost witnesses a crime and runs for her life. Former beau saves her and you can probably figure out the rest. What makes this one a little different is the fact that they all know each other and the reporter has a good reason not to trust a whole lot of people. That makes this one more interesting.

An OK read, some action, some suspense and some smut. A journalist, Eve, and the childhood friend/former marine Mac and the tip she got that now is trying to kill her. Quick and kind of like fast food, nothing to remember afterwards but kind of fun when you gobbled it down. Ill read more from Katie Reus, though. ...more

Eve was a pain in the ass. She kept putting herself in dangerous situations and having to be rescued. Mac was sexy, and fiercely protective of Eve. It was clear that they loved each other from the beginning. Why they fought their feelings for each other was beyond me.

Great read

Great story, Mac and Eve are great together, she's a reporter getting into trouble and he helps her out. It doesn't hurt that they both have loved each other their whole lives. strong characters and a great romantic story keeps you going throughout the book

Too short for the story content. Not enough explained throughout. The H and h rarely said anything to each other either.

This is a pretty short story that I finished in a couple of hours. Probably something to read on a plane/on holiday etc. It was ok - storyline was alright but pretty predictable.
