Thank you to Jourdan for providing me with a PDF of this book. Here's my honest review:
Right off the bat, any reader can see how eloquent the writing is in this novel. It's like a thesaurus in the best of uses. Ms. Alexandra obviously has a way with words - just read this book. The best part? They all belong there! They make sense, and it's not overdone. The story comes together, and it's intriguing, smart, and mysterious. It leaves you hanging and eagerly waiting more!

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed reading the first installation in this series by Jourdan Alexandra. Initially I thought it was going to be another vampire novel ripping off themes from the young adult Twilight series, or The Vampire Diaries, instead I found it to be closer to a "Sookie Stackhouse" set in upstate Vermont. The characters had some funny quirks, and the developing romance between Riley and Remaunt is much more authentic then that of some other vampire/human romances. There wer...more
The first quality the reader will notice about this novel is the writing style. Jourdan Alexandra is shockingly elegant and writes so the words the reader consumes are tangible. The action takes place the most towards the end of the novel. Until then, the reader may find him/herself reading a little slowly; however, he/she will be kept entertained by the antics and ignorance of Riley, the main character. Riley is a bit of a hit or miss as a character, at times the reader may find him/herself enj...more
Euphoria Part 1 by Jourdan Alexandra was a fantastic read! I couldn't help but love the character Riley. She's young, smart and not so easily conquered compared to some other vampire, paranormal leading ladies. The storyline is definitely unique whether it's because there are creepy, mysterious oracle runes, shapeshifter vampire owls? Or maybe, it's because vampire Remaunt is from the Elizabethan Era...Shakespeare anyone?

Jourdan Alexandra has a way with words, her writing is beautifully constructed. I liked Euphoria and its' new voice to the paranormal genre.
The descriptions in the book are fantastic. But, I did spend some time skipping long detailed paragraphs to get to something new. It seemed to drag on through some parts but then it would pick up again.

It was beautifully written and engaging. My attention was immediately captured which I always love. Most books have to get my attention right away or else I lose patience and give up on it. This book was never in danger of being abandoned though. Although it did keep my attention, it did get to a point where I craved more. I just didn't feel like enough was happening so I would get antsy. But then it would recapture it.

When I started reading Euphoria I was expecting your regular run of the mill Vampire story, but it was filled with so much more that it blew the top of my expectations! I absolutely loved Alexandra’s writing style. It was lyrical, engaging and made this book utterly impossible to put down. Jourdan’s amazing ability to tell a story and capture so much depth in her descriptions puts her at the top of my list of authors to watch out for!

This book was a nice, quick read. The author has a fantastic voice within her book, the language and style both jump out at the reader and make for a pleasant experience. The plot wasn't terribly exciting and didn't develop as far as other books I have read, but it creates a good foundation for the series that is to follow. Character development is strong, the main character is relateable, although slightly moody. Overall, good read.
In an over-saturated market of paranormal romance, Euphoria shines through with its truly unique tale of Riley and Remaunt. Set against the backdrop of picturesque Vermont, Alexandra offers readers suspense, romance and a surprising amount of laughs.
I would recommend this book to any fan of the genre. Much less worthy reads are priced higher at bookstores.

I really liked this book can't wait for part 2.
He was so eluding and mysterious that I blurted my next question without sparing time to consider how tactful it may or may not have been.
“Do you have a name, stranger?”
His face contorted briefly, giving an expression that suggested he hadn’t expected that, as if forwardness wasn’t something he was accustomed to. But if he had been caught unawares, he recovered in a timely fashion, and answered swiftly.
