Ashton Mortal is a painter who just learns that his wife is pregnant when he disappears into thin air, meets the creator, and becomes one with the universe. On an alien world he forms an army that will visit inhabited worlds, including Earth. This is the first book of a trilogy. The transition between scenes is a little difficult. This was an epub.

I only read the first few pages of this book because I couldn't stand it. Seriously. The introduction is trying so hard to be metaphysical it's almost comical. The dialogue is stilted and has no life in it. It reads like something written by a high school student. Nope.
