Grey Eyes (The Forever Trilogy #1)
by
B. Alston (Goodreads Author),

15 year old Anastasia Adams has spent her entire life on run. She and her mother have never spent more than 18 months in any one location, often times leaving with just the clothes on their backs. Despite the havoc that this is wreaking on Ana's social and academic life, her mother offers no explanation as to why it is they're constantly moving, or even what it is they're...more

I wanted to love "Grey Eyes" with all my heart and soul. However, to be toally honest, the story is a "hot mess" even though the plot, the author's version of the origins of vampires and the characters had incredible potential.
15 year old Anastasia is on the road with her mother for most of her life. She does not know why nor does she understand her mother's strange behavior and requirements. Then after an intruder breaks into her home, kills her mother and attempts to kill her, Ana goes on the...more

I am kind of blown away by Grey Eyes. I began reading this novel with heavy skepticism, thinking that it would be much like many of the other self-published novels floating around out there-- under-developed and heavily flawed... Not a chance! It was nothing short of amazing with a storyline that is seriously unique, which is a feat in itself. I have to say, the ratings and reviews Grey Eyes has recieved is widely misleading. I divide my reading time between Indie and Mainstream, and this novel...more
There was many things I truly loved about this book. In particular I loved the two boys who both love Ana. Darren is a boy with a bad reputation. He saw something different in Ana that made him want to be the man she deserves. He was smitten by her as soon as he saw her. He is sweet, thoughtful, and caring. but he is also fun and mischievous and wickedly handsome. He does his best to protect her and is there for her no matter how awful the circumstance is.

First, I have to say I read all 3 books in the series and am probably rating them as a whole rather than individually. In that, I would consider some better than others, but it took me all of them to really decide how I felt. I give it 3.5 stars and I would recommend it to younger audiences who might appreciate a good guy/bad guy/silly teen love triangle.

WOW... Where to start. My feelings for this book are extremely mixed.(not really) The plot was a little messy in some places, and I often found myself lost while reading this.
However if I say I didn't love this book
I'd be lying
So much to the extent that angels might hunt me down.
While I was yelling at the Ana to make a decision( I had already made my decision, I'm not telling you which team I'm on) her reasoning was understandable. ( Wait did I...more

okay, so i still can't decide if i like this book or not, its such a complicated story and i'm the type that will get the sequel to it in about a year once I've finished other books and unfortunately this book i will not be able to remember, I've even forgotten the main characters name, so obviously i didn't enjoy this book as much as i thought.

Grey eyes was one of those books that I hated to love…or loved to hate. I’m not really sure which. The story is beautiful, and there are a lot of wonderful twists and turns, although not all of them completely believable at first. The love story in it, alone, was enough to captivate me. Add in a history of witches, vampires and angels and you have some of my favorite novel elements. I also felt that the author knew her characters very well and helped give me a glimpse of who they were.

I think this could have been a good book if the author had gone through a couple more redrafts, but as it was, it was disappointing. On the positive side it was well written and the sufficiently engaging to keep the pages turning. However for me there were two key issues: plot; and characterisation.
In terms of the plot aside from the initial action the core plot until at least 80% of the way through was simply a progressive reveal of the protagonist's back-story. The authors maintained the suspe...more

I really liked this book- it reminded me a bit of Amanda Hocking's Trylle Trilogy, but with witches and vampires instead of trolls. The mythology was pretty inventive, and I thought the romance was done well even if it did follow a now familiar YA formula: triangle between a forbidden but compelling immortal boy v. safer, sweeter more acceptable boy. That's part of this book's charm. It takes a solidly conventional YA framework and builds a compelling novel around it that still manages to throw...more
OMG! I LOVED THIS BOOK!
Love triangles nowadays are seriously overdone. I mean it's usually some girl who thinks her life sucks because two insanely hot guys are after her. Seriously? But in this story, the love triangle seems more plausible, I could totally connect with what Ana's feeling. I don't want to give specifics, because it might ruin the surprise, you'll see what I mean when you read it for yourself.

Ana had been on the run her entire life. That came to an end when her mother was attacked by a vampire. Thats when Ana found out that she was the grey eyed heir to the Rasputin line of witches.
After coming home, Ana starts hearing voices and remembering things that she shouldn't know. Meanwhile, she started high school and is torn between 2 guys. Darren, the grandson of one of her grandmother's closest friends and Tristian, a vampire who Ana has intense feelings for.

Okay so going in to this book I was skeptical. I kept seeing all these terrible reviews, so naturally, I was a little hesitant. I am glad however that I decided to find out for myself.
I liked the world the book was set in and didnt find it very confusing at all. The author keeps you in the dark alittle bit about why Ana is experiencing some of the things she is but it keeps things interesting and even though you dont understand your not sitting there thinking you have no idea whats going on and...more

It took a few paragraphs for me to get into this book, but once I did get hooked (and looked past some annoying teenage angst as well as some near-Twilight similarities in certain areas at the worst part) it was a fast read. Main character Ana is a (rare type of) witch, nearly sixteen, and learns she has a very hefty (royal) lineage as well as the responsobilty that comes with such things once she survives an attack by the monsters her mother spent the majority of Ana's life trying to hide her f...more
Where to begin with Grey Eyes? I don't believe I can actually add a synopsis, since I truly can't put my finger on the story or plot.
The idea behind the book, based on the description posted, was interesting... What girl doesn't appreciate a good paranormal romance-love triangle?
I downloaded the Kindle sample and was captured and intrigued by what I was reading, so I downloaded the full story.

Oh. Where to start?! This book was a really great read. I loved the new take on the witches and the vampires, and oh dear, the love story behind it! This book had me in tears toward the end, and that is always a good sign that the book you just read, is going to be forever etched in your brain. From the action, to the dying questions you had about Ana, and the romance! I found it hard to put this book down once I picked it up.

This book was a pretty good introduction to a trilogy. It is another story of vampires and witches but it delves more into witches having different types of magic instead of everyone having the same abilities. Ana has spent her whole life on the run with her mother. Problem is, Ana doesn't know what they are running from. When they are attacked, Ana is taken to Brighton and introduced to her grandmother. Ana discovers that she is a witch, an heir to the haven in fact.

Witches and Vampires! Good witches or evil witches? Good vampires or evil vampires? This is the dilemma you will face in this read. The author does an excellent job of creating colorful and distinct characters. You know just enough about them to understand who they are, what they want and what is in their way, yet your continually wondering if they will turn out to be good or bad. Poor Ana has been on the run all of her life and left entirely clueless about it until one day monsters show up on h...more

I really really enjoyed this book. When I first started reading it, I looked it up on goodreads and seen a few bad reviews and was expecting to be disappointed but I was so wrong! This really was a very interesting book.
Right in the beginning you get hooked. There is so much going on and so many mysteries to unwind. You can't help but get sucked in and try to piece this book together. Plus there is so many cool plot twists, love, vampires, witches, angels and guardians. I can not wait to read th...more

On passe de l...more

This was a....different....book. I can't think how else to describe it. It was bad, but it wasn't fabulous. I will probably continue the series.
The beginning felt a little choppy. You were slammed into the story from the first page, which isn't necessarily bad, but in this case it made it a little confusing. In the middle, I felt like it fell apart somewhat. The storyline unraveled and went in a couple different directions - also causing a little confusion. There was a big thing that happened he...more

In this book we meet Anastasia Adams. Anastasia is a witch with purpose. She has two love interests, Tristen and Darren. Tristen is a vampire and Darren is a warlock. Caught in a world where the two cultures collide, Ana discovers her true identity and the purpose she is to fulfill.

I really wanted to like this book and will read to the end of the triology on principle now but I found it very disappointing. The writing is the biggest barrier to really engaging with this book. Sentences are awkwardly phrased, the plot moves from one scene to another without explaining the transition, people react to things in quite unbelievable ways.

At first, I wasn't quite sure what Grey Eyes was going to be about. I was wary about 'another witch vs. Vampire' story. Because puh-lease, talk about overdone. But I was pleasantly surprised that the story was well written and the plot wasn't so overly unfeasible to be enjoyable.
-SpoilerAlert-

I really wanted to like Grey Eyes which started out with a very promising plot. But then after a few chapters, the author started to throw all sort of different myths and stories into the mix: witches, conjurer, warlocks, vampires, angels, guardians, and reincarnation etc...It felt like the author just kept adding these random twists to the plot to keep the story going. And the love-triangle - what can I say - I was not captivated by it, in fact I was pretty tired of the whole love-triangle. One...more
This book is about a 15 year old girl named Anastasia who has always been from one place to another with her mother. Her mother never had an explanation for why they had to move so much though. But one day Anastasia realizes that she will finally stay in one place, South Carolina, after her mother goes missing. She's on her own now and she meets a boy. Anastasia gets offly comfortable with him, yet she doesn't even know him. I like this book because a teenage girl gets attached to a young boy sh...more
Good YA paranormal romance revolving around witches and vampires with some new twists so it doesn't try to copy twilight. Actually a pretty good read, especially since it was free on my nook. A few editing issues and a rather familiar story line with the one girl/ two guys love triangle. The author has some real potential, the story line and back ground were intriguing. I find myself wishing she'd had a real editor as some parts were rushed and others rather drawn out. The ending in particular f...more
