Fans of Brockmann's Troubleshooters
I really enjoyed this one, which surprised me, since I didn't have positive feelings about Adam from the previous books he was in. For half of this book he was a petulant, brooding a**, but SB gave us some more background about him, so I understood him more and felt bad about his past. And I warmed up to him towards the end.:)
I wasn't totally convinced about this "love at first sight" thing that Tony experienced, but I went along with it. Not exactly sure just what Tony (who seemed to have a lot...more

2.5 stars. My final thought when I finished this: Tony is going to get his heart broken, and Adam is just not worthy.
I **loved** the Troubleshooters series. I devoured it to the point I thought of the characters as real people, which is partly why I didn't care for this romance between Tony and Adam. I hated Adam in the previous books, and I didn't think he was redeemable as a hero. And turns out he wasn't. Adam made life miserable for Jules and Robin, (who I love and consider some of my closes...more

I was really looking forward to this novella ever since Suz announced it was being released as an ebook. I really like Tony, and was interested in getting a more balanced view of Adam.
Minor quibbles: I wish it were longer (okay, yes, novella. I get it); I hate the cover (I do not need half-naked men on covers, thank you very much. If this had been a paperback book, I probably would not have read it as fast, since I read on the train, and with that on the cover, that book would have never left t...more

This came as bonus with my Virtual Signing copy of Breaking the Rules. If you are waiting until June for a chance to purchase this in e-book format, you won't be disappointed. AT ALL. In fact, I enjoyed this more than Breaking the Rules, which I wasn't expecting. I really didn't think Brockmann could redeem Adam, who is horrid to Jules for several books, downright disgusting in Hot Target, slightly pathetic in Jules and Robin's story (title escaping me right now) and in All Through the Night. This was super way cute! Get that? Super WAY cute!
I know that Adam has been a bane in poor Jules and Robin's lives for a while now, but there has almost always been a part of me that felt sad for him. Like, I just knew that there was something more to him, something deeper. And I'll tell ya, I was PISSED when nobody was taking his stalker threats seriously. His life isn't a joke just because they may not like him... grumble grumble. And so yeah, I liked Adam. We got hints about his side of 'the...more

I didn't think I'd like this one. Adam has always been such an asshole in other books that I really didn't see how I could enjoy his story. That being said, I really enjoyed his story. Lol. Tony was perfect for Adam. And probably the bigger reason they worked out was because Adam was finally at a point in his life where he was really ready for someone.
So what made me end up liking Adam? Well first, I liked that he knew he was an asshole. I think we can all can relate to knowing we have a flaw,...more

This is a sweet and fitting finale to the excellent Troubleshooters series by Suzanne Brockmann to celebrate the repeal of DADT. Those who have followed the series are well acquainted with the self-centred and unhappy Adam. Despite all the grief he caused to Jules and Adam it is lovely to see him get his own HEA.
Tony is a Navy SEAL and is hiding his true self under the DADT laws. It seems he has long had his eye on Adam but when he finally makes his move it outs him to his SEAL colleagues. Suza...more

Suzanne Brockmann included When Tony Met Adam as part of the virtual signing for Breaking The Rules--a gutsy move that reinforces an indisputable fact: Brockmann isn't afraid to break the rules herself. When Tony Met Adam arrived in mailboxes across America this week. For Troubleshooter fans, this heartfelt little shortstory about Adam, the bastard ex of both Jules and Robin, is a must have. And if you haven't read Brockmann yet-- what are you waiting for?
This is a fitting tribute for the repeal of the Don't Ask, Don't Tell military policy.
There was a brief moment in All Through the Night when relatively new Team 16 member Tony Vlachic meets Adam Wyndham as he is leaving Robin and Jules' home on their wedding day. Tony writes his phone number on Adam's hand and, with that action, pretty much comes out to his team members. This story picks up from that moment and addresses the reaction of Tony's SEAL team members, their attitudes about the situat...more

First of all, if you are not a fan of the series you might want to skip this review because it won’t make any sense. You need to be familiar with the books to know what I’m talking about.

This is a sweet little story, and it does something Brockmann does very well—take a character from the Troubleshooters series who has previously been totally unlikable and make him sympathetic. I just wish there were more of this story. It's totally insta-love, and I wish that we could have seen the development of Tony and Adam's relationship in addition to what is basically their second meeting, which takes up the bulk of the book. But Adam says at one point that, after his relationship with Ju...more

From one "f***" date (really....no dinner, no talking, no kissing....at least...that was the planned, once...but...) suddenly Adam and Tony felt a bond to each other. At first, Adam denied he felt in love with Tony the ARMY guy, and he went to this club, tried to screw a guy...but FAILED!.
It's always Tony he sees everywhere, but Tony gone, to the war.
Adam then live like a monk until he pound out something happened to Tony at war.....

This is a short story from the world of Suzanne Brockmann's popular Troubleshooter's Incorporated series and fits in seamlessly amongst the rest of the full-length novels. This story goes further in-depth into the life of one of the oft-mentioned Seal Team Sixteen teammates and a character who's been rather despicable until now.
Tony Vlachic has been a rather quiet character. In this story he shows a much more outgoing side, he's charming and sexy and completely irresistible. He takes charge and...more

I’ve only read book one in the Troubleshooters series; The Unsung Hero but it blew me away. So when I heard about the fact Suzanne Brockmann wrote a gay romance novella to celebrate the repeal of ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ I got very excited. I must say there was also the curios factor what Brockmann could dish out with a gay couple.
I have to admit that from page one I fell in love with both Adam and Tony. Adam for the fact he was a crude Neanderthal who cloaked himself in a ‘devil-may-care’ attit...more

This was an OK novella for me. I love Suzanne Brockmann's books and I usually believe the relationships in her books. I just didn't in this one. They met, they had sex and then they are ready for a HEA? It felt forced to me and the whole story felt rushed. There wasn't time to get to know either character. Adam was a total jerk and I can't see anyone liking him at all. I liked Tony, but as he related to his team not Adam. I thought that the reactions of the team after Tony came out were pretty r...more
This is a fitting wrap-up to the Troubleshooters series, and finally rights the injustice of the sex scenes in Hot Target (where, probably necessarily for the wide audience, Cosmo got to have a lot more explicit sex with his female lover than Jules did with Adam or Robin.) Tony is the perfect lover, the one who is sweet and gorgeous and sexy, and who knows you better than you know yourself. One who doesn't take no for an answer when you really mean yes, but isn't domineering or stalkerish about...more
My grade: C+. This gay short story romance by Suzanne Brockmann was enjoyable. Just limited to the romance and much too short. Adam was a jerk who changed in spite of himself into a good guy because of Tony. There was a theme of the conflict Tony had, being gay and in the military and being forced to lie about who he is and how he spends his free time. And the guys he's forced to lie to are his SEAL team members who are as close as people can get. I believe Brockmann wrote it to celebrate the re...more

I'm an ardent fan of the Troubleshooter series and was excited to read When Tony Met Adam. I loved getting to know more about Tony and was happy that Adam did in fact have some redeemable qualities; and while I was extremely happy to read their story I think the novella format was a bit too short to fit everything in. I know, greedy reader here, always wanting more. It was a nice foray into the DADT law and while I appreciated it, it think due to the format much of the story was given through ex...more
A short MM story towards the end of a long running series with MF and MM plot lines running through it. I've not read any of the others in the series and got this one for a GR challenge category. I have read other Suzanne Brockmann books and enjoy her writing so I may have to look out for this series in my library!
This story obviously fleshes out a couple of characters from the main series and I dont think they have their own story in the series. Its a fun, quick read that can be read as a stand...more

March - I am not a fan of short-short stories, and this certainly was short-short! It was great seeing some of the Troubleshooter characters again - although I'm tired of Danny always being such a jerk. This could have been twice as long and fit nicely into an anthology - but that's ok. It was sweet and easy and there really isn't much more to say about it - other than people often complain about SB's militant in-your-face writing that includes ACCEPT ALL GAYS!! Well, I agree w/her - and even if...more
I really enjoy Brockmann's writing. She can take characters that you've disliked from previous books, and by shining a different light on them, and giving you more depth into their background, compel you to change your ideas and feelings.

At the end of All Through the Night: A Troubleshooter Christmas we get this little scene where Adam is leaving Jules and Robins Boston Townhouse. He's upset, heartbroken and at a low point in his life. He steps past some SEALS on his way to the airport to fly back to LA... when one SEAL steps out of the group and want's to know if he's Adam?

Got my copy when I ordered Breaking the Rules via the Virtual Signing for Breaking the Rules. I surprised myself by liking this short story more than the novel it came with.
I think it would be an understatement to say that most long term readers like me did not have a high opinion of Adam, based on his previous transgressions. But there are two sides to every story, and we finally got to read his POV here, which explained away all the years of errant behaviour and misunderstanding.

After Hot Target and All Through the Night: A Troubleshooter Christmas, I didn't think I would ever like Adam or even think he was capable of having a serious, healthy relationship, but I hadn't figured in Tony Vlachic, a Navy SEAL who has the uncanny ability to see past the facades and barriers that Adam has constructed between himself and others. The two of them together just fit, even around all of Adam's baggage, and I have to say that I would LOVE to see more of them in upcoming books.
Short insta-love story that actually worked for me. I loved how the support from Tony's team felt - real, as in a little uncomfortable with the idea of him being gay but still willing to let him be the man he always was to them. It's a refreshing change from the stars-and-hearts-and-rainbow-confetti support that makes me think twice about the believability and the gritted-teeth-willing-them-to-death from everyone around the MCs that also makes me think twice about believability.

I never thought I would actually hope for a happy ending for Adam since he was so horrid to my favorite character Jules. But by the time I finished this short story, I was very glad that he did. This is a nice closure to the story thread that started in All Through the Night. Since I missed reading about Sam in Breaking the Rules I am glad he had a very short yet critical guest part in this story. Thank you for this nice little gift .Brockmann Sensei!

Tony sees hunky, Hollywood star Adam as he's walking away from Jules & Robin's house, heartbroken. So the SEAL follows...
Adam doesn't do STAR COLLECTORS, which he thinks the kid is, and tries to send adorably, young Tony on his way after a few paces. Tony, though, doesn't accept the brush-off that easily... In fact, he even smiles. Which makes Adam take longer notice of the hot, blue-eyed male...

Not to be rude, but I have to say first that this was the first story by Suzanne Brockmann that I had read. I was confused. I had no idea why Adam was so obsessed with Robin, or who Sam was and so on.. So, it was not a smooth ride for me, being puzzled with some names which were written in a way like I should have known them but really, I did not. Like stuck in a family reunion, and not knowing more than 20 close relatives whom I should know.
