The Zombie Fallout Series by Mark Tufo thus far consists of Dr. Hugh Mann (a prequel), Zombie Fallout, A Plague Upon Your Family, and The End.... Although distinct books, I am reviewing them together because that is the way that I read them. Once I finished each book, I was so wrapped up in the story that I immediately purchased the next. Cumulatively, they are an epic apocalyptic tale, which reminded me of Steven King's The Stand and Robert McCammon's Swan Song. If you read the first book, and...more
I do not want to do reviews of all the series, so I will have my say here about book 2 & 3. Don't worry, I won't post any spoilers.
This week I have listened to the audio book versions of books 2 & 3 and I have to admit I am really enjoying this series. Depending on how the series turns out I may have to rethink the 4/5 stars I gave books 1, 2 and 4, and give them all a 5/5 star rating.
Book 2 and its McDonalds story had me laughing my a** off and I had to pause it and regain my composure...more

Just as the title of this review says... this series just keeps getting more interesting. I find myself enjoying every minute of these titles. You would think that as these series of titles continues they would get more monotonous or boring in some way, but the absolute opposite is happening. There is so much imagination and thought that has gone into these books I am looking forward to each and every single one.

The end...but not, thankfully. Mark Tufo gives us the third installment which sees the Talbot clan find relative safety after being on the run, sadly Eliza has much bigger ideas and the war steps up to a whole new level. This is another rip roaring tale from start to finish, I am amazed that Mark has found time to fit any back story into this action! The violence is graphic but interlaced is a dark humor that balances well, somehow Mark has managed to write in such a way that you feel in the act...more
*spoiler alert*
Well, I'll give Mark Tufo credit. I was wrong in assuming that Eliza was a zombie vampire. It seems she is just a vampire. Still, this leads to many questions I do not have the answers to. First; how is Eliza (a vampire) able to control the zombies (who are actually controlled by a parasitic organism)? How was Eliza able to stand out in the daylight in the first book if she is a vampire? That goes against most (if not all) vampire legends that I am aware of. How is Tommy her broth...more

i love these books; very descriptive and emotional. i had to put it down a couple of times just take a breather, the events are so vivid. i love the final chapter, when he makes fun of the guy who found the first book and kept complaining about the grammar and misspelling. was this on purpose? lol. i'm thinking yes, considering his writing style. the first book might have some misspelled words and grammatical errors but the plot is really good and the story really does flow easily. bad spelling...more
Once you get sucked into the story, you just can't put his books down, it's like reading someone's diary that you found in the attic..... from long ago.... You get so involved in the characters and when something happens its like watching a mixture between the greatest horror movie to the greatest action adventure movie ever made...except your picturing the story in your imagination, because your just so involved in the book! You are just gripping the edge of your seat and all tensed up waiting...more
In this book of the series we find some answers to some important questions. Who is Tommy and why is he so special? Why is Eliza after Mike? These were some specific questions that I had when ending book #2.
I like how the story progressed in this book. I was not disappointed by the action and heartbreaking moments. Some of these moments I know would be hard for me to face had I really been in Mike's situation. I like how it's not just "hunky dory" and isn't always easy for Mike to get out of a h...more

***Mark Tufo, author - Mark Talbot main character*** Hummmn
I bought all 3 books (so far) at the same time due to the reviews I read. Sorry Mark, but I really didn't expect much. Boy, was I very, very pleasantly surprised!! I loved these books, really loved them. If my job and the need for sleep didn't interfere with my life, I would have finished them in 3 days. I really didn't want to put them down.

Oh I relistened to the first 10 minutes and BAM it all made sense! It's great to have an AHA moment while listening to a book. Sometimes I'm multitasking while listening and I admit that those first ten minutes or so of back story about Eliza are pretty boring but pay attention!! LOL this story is the best so far. It continues the saga of Mike & Co. The plot seems to be straightening out & things are heating up! I really thought vampires were gonnabe tossed into the mix in the last book....more
Mark Tufo's Zombie Fallout series just keeps getting better and better. A sense of humor and a deep streak of sarcasm help keep Mike Talbot (our very relucant hero) moving. That and the fact that if he let's anything happen to one of his kids, his wife will make the zombie hordes seem like girl scouts in comparrison.
If you haven't tried this series yet, you are really missing out. I read each one within a day because I have trouble putting them down. Action packed to the point that you find you...more

How lucky am i?? Threw through ZF1 & 2 only to be met with ZF3 not being finished. Read some other terrible Zombie books and they where that bad i re-read 1&2 again, Then on finishing No 2 again my Kindle informed me ZF3 had just been released, RESULT!! Another 2 days of reading sorted, and how i enjoyed it immensely, same charaters, same humour and same "hell for leather" pace. Being honest not quite as good as the first two but still superb and that good i now wait in anticipation of No 4...more
Zombie Fallout 3 is much like the first two. I gave those 5 start but I’m only giving this one 4? “Why are you doing that when you just said it was much like the first two” you ask. Well it is, but this one is a bit slower, and it really had to be to move the story along. It’s not a snail’s pace for sure but not up to the frenzied encounters of the first two books. I still really enjoyed it and I liked how it moved out a bit from being a pure journal to adding in side stories such as Brendon’s a...more
Mark TufoZombie Fallout 3: The End
This set of books has it all, the humour shines through to lighten the darker parts of the book, the psychological terror of the situation drags you into the story making you feel a part of the family, Mike Talbot is the hero of the piece protecting his family and loved ones to the best of his ability from the growing Zombie threat, the zombies are not all slow and lumbering as in the majority of Zombie films neither are they as fast as in 28 days later film, so...more

This story just has me on the edge of my seat! Infinitely better than 2, and I loved that one too! Just when I think there is safe haven, or no more horror to bestow upon the Talbots - I am always wrong! I'm very intrigued by the Eliza/Tommy dynamic. I'll admit I was a little skeptical of the whole vampire turned zombie turned queen of the dead living dead ruler of all that is unholy - but it's working for me now! My only dilemma is moving onto the prequel or ZF 4!! I want Mark Tufo on my side i...more
I don't really get the title for the story. It is/was the end of nothing. I also don't like how it ended.
I still had a good time reading the book and enjoy the story. There were some pretty good intense moments.
It's the third book in six so we're only halfway through. I hope the bigger story arc will develop a bit more in book four.

i love the first book, second book was good, oh mann this third book is just getting weirder and weirder , it was okay, the first half of the book bored me to death, it gets thrilling near the end of the book, i lost a little interest when the idea of vampire got thrown into the story, vampire and zombie , they just don't mix well for me
Very few books can pull me in and keep me hooked across an entire series. Usually, by the 3rd volume, I'm simply reading because I feel like I have to. I must complete the series or I'll never forgive myself. It becomes a chore and not at all enjoyable. This series is one of the previously mentioned rare breed. I'm completely invested, hooked, and begging for more.
I also feel it necessary to mention that I can count on my left hand the books that have actually brought tears to my eyes. "The End"...more

My OCD comes in handy at times like this. Due to the fact that I purchased all the books I can continue this series uninterrupted. Every book leaves me hanging on the edge of my seat demanding to know what happens next. It has truly been a long time since I've felt swept up by a story and dragged along for the ride. These books are a fun, twisted, horrifying rollercoaster with a few screws loose.
this is part three to the talbot family and the zombies, i loved this series. in this book, secrets were revealed that left me so surprised, it was like a big piece of the puzzle, in the other books before this one, i did not understand a few things, this book blew it wide open. i cant wait to get the next one. It was as creepy, wondrously gross, hilarious in some parts, sad in others as the ones before it! I recommend it to any one who wants a great read!!
I continued to have fun with this book as I worked through Mark Tufo Zombie Fallout series. I didn't find this middle book to lag in any way. I continue to highly recommend Tufo's series.
If you read the first two books in the series then you know how Mark Tufo can take you on a rollercoaster ride of fun and horror. Well its the same with book #3. Again Tufo gives much more than expected.
