is it okay if i freak out over another cookbook i haven't actually used yet??

so heidi asked me to look into this book at work a while back, and at first, i wasn't thinking too much about it - i am more of a cooker than a baker - baking is so...precise, and i am more of a "throw it all together and see what happens" kind of girl. it is my inner kenny shopsin. baking is so unforgiving (as i learned over the holiday season, when i accidentally added an additional cup of sugar to my banana
This book starts with a section of techniques and advice on how to achieve the perfect crust and gives various different recipes including vegan crust, gluten free crust, all butter crust and then continues on with 40 delicious recipes for both sweet and savoury pies in various sizes. The instruction are concise and easy to follow and has loads of pictures showing the expected end result which I like.

If you are new to making pastry or can't quite get the grip of it and get it right then this is

I have always wanted to attempt pie and these little ones just spoke to me. I do my book research on and this particular book
received rave reviews, like average of 5 out of 5 stars. So I had high
hopes for this one. Now maybe it’s because my hopes were so high or
maybe because I’ve never read a “pie” book before but this one fell a
little flat for me. I think the biggest problem I had with it was that
it tried to do too much. The author of this book owns a coffee and pie

Cutie Pies is not just a dessert cookbook, oh no, you’ll find all kind of pies here. I for one will be buying this one as soon as it’s available. Directions are very easy to follow and there are plenty of tips for assembling the pies. This cookbook is not only for the small cutie pies you get Petiti-5, pie jars (really neat) flipsides, pie pops and full sized pies. So, there is a size and recipe for every occasion. Everything I have tired has been easy, fun and tasty. If you like pies don’t miss ...more
Dissapointing. The cover of this book is deceptive. It talks it up far too much. Uninspiring pie recipes. I have seen so many other much cuter pies!!!!

! However, I probably will try her pastry methods and make the pie pops so an extra star for that.

Cutie Pies: 40 Sweet, Savory and Adorable Recipes is a collection of miniature pie recipes and techniques written by Dani Cone who owns Seattle's High 5 Pie, which specializes in classic and new pie recipes in various shapes and sizes.

It starts with an introduction to the author and her love for pie, then explains how to use the book. The chapters are separated by pie shape, however, each recipe also lists options for shapes and how many pies it will make in those shapes. So if you don't find t

The book starts off with how to make pie crust and gives you a choice of 4 different crusts, a traditional one, gluten free, graham cracker crust and vegan crust. What makes the book so adorable are the different ways to serve your pie, traditional with an upper and lower crust, baked in a mason jar (Pie Jars), turnovers (Flip Sides) and pie pops on a stick. I am not sure how messy the pie pops would be.

There are plenty and plenty of berry pie recipes-which are my absolute favourite. Just think
I really wanted to absolutely and totally fall in love with this little pie book. I wanted to submerge myself in all things pie and experience Pie Nirvana. Most of all I wanted this book to bring me back to Seattle and allow me to reminisce on my happy days living in the Emerald City. I attended college in Seattle, my dorm being literally one block from the current location of High Five Pie, the pie eatery owned by author Dani Cone. Unfortunately, I missed the opening of High Five Pie, otherwise ...more

Dani Cone owns and operates High 5 Pie in Seattle Washington. Cutie Pies is a culmination of her work as a pie expert.
Her pies come in six "varieties" - cutie pies, petit 5's, pie jars, flipsides, pie pops and full-sized pies. Cutie pies are baked in standard muffin tin. Petit 5's in mini-muffin pans. Pie jars are pies baked in half pint canning jars. Flipsides are similar to turnovers. But Pie Pops are what caused me to really want to share this book. They're little pies served on sticks like

This book is so bright, and colorful and well….cute!

The Cutie Pies cookbook is a wonderful little cookbook filled with compact and bite-size recipes, and once I had it in my hot little hands, I couldn’t wait to try some of them out.

Dani Cone sells her pies in the Seattle Washington area at High 5 Pie, and she is also the founder and owner of three Fuel Coffee locations based in the Seattle area. She’s taken the baking secrets from her Grandma Molly, and turned them into a business. Her delectabl
I've decided to go ahead and review cookbooks and gardening manuals, since I do spend a lot of my time at home in the kitchen cooking and baking, thinking of food, and attempting to grow food.

Cutie Pies is true to its title and does display a lot of cute mini pies. Most of the recipes are made in standard muffin tins, so no fancy new items need to be purchased (unless you need a muffin tin). Another option is the hand pie, which they call "flipsides" or something similar, and those are basically
After reading a library copy, I think I need to buy this cookbook.

Cutie Pies
By Dani Cone

If you love pies, this is the book for you. It has a little bit of story to it, easy recipes that are cute and very beautiful pictures. You can make mini pies, small pies or normal size pies, the book gives you the steps for either one. It is a must have book for pie lovers. I give this book 5 stars. Thank you NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the copy of this book.
This book is utterly adorable, from its bright, vivid colors to the super cute font used throughout. I love that Cutie Pies includes sweet and savory recipes--all in perfect single-serving sizes. The pictures are brilliant, and there are even recipes for Vegans and those following a gluten-free diet. This book would make a perfect gift, and I can't wait to try out some of the pies in a jar!
If I had a copy of this book I could take to the kitchen, I'd be tempted to try the Tomato Basil Mozzarella Petit Fives or maybe the Lemon Blueberry Pie Jars. However, I don't have a paper copy or a Kindle copy so all I can tell you is that it is a pretty cookbook with yummy sounding recipes.

Thanks to the publisher for making a review copy available via NetGalley.
YUM!! I've made a couple of these so far, and this has to be the easiest pie crust I have tried. So far everything is delicious!
