The second book in the Patricia Amble series, finds "Tish" going home. Home to where her mother drove off a bridge, her father's family was, and the old cottage that she just bought to spruce up where she spent her childhood summers.
Tish leaves behind Rawlings and heads for Port Silvan, and also leaves behing Brad. After spending some time with him, after her name is cleared, she leaves him in the road to only see her tail lights. She has convinced herself that going home is something she has t...more

Oh my goodness!! This boom definitely kept me on the edge of my seat! I enjoyed this one more than I did the first book of the series. There were lots of twists and turns that I didn't expect and the ending had me mentally biting my nails . I couldn't get to the ending fast enough. I'm hoping that the way the author ended this book leaves room for my hopes of the next boom to come to fruition. I would love to see a happy ending for Tish with everything she has had to endure in her life.
I love this series, mostly because of the main character, Tish Amble, who seems to always find herself in situations that force her to walk a very thin line between right and wrong, moral and immoral and even legal and illegal. It is amazing to follow how her really normal life gets turned upside down, because of the family she was born into, and problems from a past that is not even hers catch up with her at every turn. And still through all the turmoil and mayhem, she somehow manages to find h...more
This is the 2nd book in the Patricia Amble series, and it was just as good as the first. Less 'renovation' talk and more drama, life saving and shoot-em-up-bang-bang. The best part is that even though it's way over the top in details and mob-drama, Nicole Young makes all the details connect in a believable, sensible way. I'm looking forward to the last book in the series up next, but am going to be sad to say goodbye to Tish. Such a great character, I'll definitely be looking forward to finding...more
Loved this one too! Its turning out to be a great series! My only complaint is that Tish seems to be stuck on always looking down on herself and her circumstances. Wish she would just get over it arleady! Lots of us have had hard lives and aren't wallowing in it. We grew up and got over it and went on with life!

I just finished the book and I loved it!!! There is a cliffhanger at the end so I can't wait until the new one comes out on February 1, 2009. :) It was a little slow to start out but it got so good toward the end that I can wait to get my hands on the 3rd in the series. I hope Nicole Young does not stop writing.
Finish this book in one day. a record for me!
I did enjoy the story but after reading half of the book, i decide to read the dialog only. Tish, the main character seems to have a very low self esteem. She cried almost every time the mention of her mother & that kinda make me angry. haha..
If you dont like some draggy & too descriptive writing, this is not the book for you.
