This book is the third book in the vampirates series, but I have not read the two previous books. I think these books aren't all that compicated so you could jump to any in the series, but I would recommend reading them In order. This series is good for anyone who likes fantasy and aventure, and isn't looking for to challenging of a read. The book is about two twins. Connor and Grace. There Dad died in one of the previous books, but now they have began there own adventures. Connor is aboard a no...more

We continue the adventures of Connor and Grace, Connor on the pirate ship Diablo and Grace with the Vampirates, who are off to Sanctuary to try and find some healing for Lorcan.
Like the second book, this one took awhile to really get started - I'd say it was a little more than halfway by the time things picked up. This wouldn't be so bad, as it's, in a way, a character based book, and I do like spending time with the characters - even when they do stupid and irritating things - but I felt tha...more

I wasn't really looking forward to reading this book, as the second book didn't really hold my attention much and I was dreading the same thing happening. I HAD to read it though, as I don't like leaving a series unfinished. ;)
For the most part, this book was a lot more interesting than the second book, "Tides of Terror." I still don't like how much jumping back and forth between characters goes on, and that's one thing that causes my attention to waver, but with the story being more interestin...more

This was the third book in the Vampirates series, and I think the best one so far. The first two books seemed to be lacking in drama, but they were good set up for this book. I think I stuck with them because there is just SO much potential story wise. I publish a magazine for teenagers and I am not sure if the first two books would hold their attention.

In this book, Connor learns to live with loss-especially when he meets Moonshine Wrathe, his captain's nephew. They have to be partnered together in raids and such, which drives Connor to do the unthinkable. Grace travels to the Vampirate sanctuary with Lorcan and Shanti, Lorcan's donor, to cure Lorcan's condition, and Grace has adventures there as well.

It seems like each book in the Vampirates series gets better and better! I loved Blood Captain, the third installment in the series, more than the first two. I must admit that I enjoy Grace's story so much more than Connor's. Even though they are twins, the paths that they have chosen are so completely different. Connor has his pirate dreams while Grace feels right at home on the Vampirate ship. I find Grace's interaction and relationships with the vampires so interesting. My favorite parts in t...more
This is such an interesting series. Connor and Grace are separated for most of the book. Connor is on the Diablo, once again discovering that Malucco Wrathe is not really the kind of pirate Connor wants to be. And when he discovers he didn't kill Jez Stuckley and tries to make amends, he unleashes something he never intended. Grace, meanwhile, is with Lorcan at the Vampirates healing grounds. She's a healer in training and when she tries to help Lorcan she sees things about her own past that he...more
Grace and Connor's lives are taking another turn as their different situation put them in different circumstances. Grace takes Lorcan to a healing place called Sanctuary where the great Vampirate guru, Mosh Zu Kamal, resides. Lorcan's healing is a bit more serious than originally thought but with the help of Grace, Mosh Zu feels he can make a full recovery. Connor deals with the spoiled heir to the Wrathe's fortune, Moonshine Wrathe who hates him for events that Connor doesn't even recall. When...more
It seems like the series is taking a slow dive from adventure series to emotional soap opera; no longer is it based on high seas adventure involving pirates and two lost orphans with a splash of vampires, but instead has become almost entirely about Grace and her romantical affection for the vampire who apparently may or may not be her father. It seems like what drew me to this series in the first place is slowly dwindling away so I decided to take a break from it for the time being now that I h...more
Grace and Connar have both gone their separate ways. Grace goes to the sanctuary with her vampire friend Lorcan to try to fix his blindness while Connar stays on the pirate ship The Diablo. At first everything is okay but then a reble vampire appears and causes trouble and now it's up to Grace and Connor to get rid of him before it's too late.

Grace and Connor, twins that chose to join different pirate crews, continue their adventures in the third book of the Vampirates series. Grace stays on her Vampirates ship, with vampire and donor crew, and journeys with them to a guru that can help heal an ill vampire on the crew. He has been unable to feed on his donor, which is suspending the youth that she has been enjoying as his donor. She is rapidly aging, and though she and Grace don't get along, Grace feels compelled to help her. Connor,...more

This was another fairly good installment in this swashbuckling series, which is an intriguing mix of both pirates and vampires.
Connor and Grace chose two very different paths to follow--Connor signing up as a pirate aboard Molucco Wrathe's ship The Diablo, and Grace remaining on the Vampirate ship The Nocturne. Both choices led the brother and sister into adventure, danger, intrigue and secrets. The story was told from both of their perspectives, which gave us a good look...more

Connor took to life aboard the Diablo like a duck to water and loves being a pirate, well he did before Captain Wrathe's nephew Moonshine joined the crew. Now he's not so sure, especially when Moonshine's actions cause problems for him and his friends, perhaps the pirate life isn't the best thing for him after all. Meanwhile Grace travels to Sanctuary with Lorcan where they hope that the Vampirate guru Mosh Zu Kamal will be able to cure Lorcan's blindness. But why is Mosh Zu so interested in Gra...more

Ahhhh....adventure on the high Vampirate seas...this is a superbly fun series. Plenty of action in both Vampirate and regular pirate varietal. What's great about this series is that piracy is an accepted form of occupation. There is a Pirate Academy for the non-Vampirate and Sanctuary for the vampires who wish to become Vampirates. Sanctuary helps the vampires become less addicted to the bloodlust and more of a mellower vampire.

Wow... Quite a comeback from the last book. I, actually, really liked this one.
Okay, I have a few negative things to say about this volume. The major issue I had with number 3, was the whole Buddhism thing, and channeling the energy into your ribbon, and that kind of stuff. (Me and my family are Christians...)
Aside from the disturbances, the anticipation of the captain going missing increases as the book progresses. And the end was intense!

The third book in the Vampirates series. Grace and the Vampirate Captain take Lorcan to Sanctuary to find the healer, Mosh Zu. Meanwhile, Connor finds himself stuck with Captain Wrathe's bratty nephew Moonshine. Unknown to either Sidorio is still about and plotting the demise of the Captain and his crew. This series gets better as it goes on. This installment leaves you anxious for the fourth book.

This book was the third in the series of Somper's "Vampirates". The book continues the story of Twins Grace and Connor Tempest as they see where life will take them next-- Connor on "The Diablo" as a pirate and Grace on "The Nocturne" as an "in-between". Where will their adventures take them this time?

I didn't have high hopes for this book. The first two books were okay...but this one..wow. This one really stepped it up. It was twice as long as the other two and twice as good. I didn't care much for Connor until near the end of the book, but Grace's story had an interesting twist. And the ending? Can we say cliff-hanger? I will most certainly be reading the next book. :)
Ok just finished the book around five seconds ago... WTF that just happened at the end?
Let me just say the book was BEYOND slow paced. I would give a max of pages of it's boring content around 300 pages but infact my copy contained 569 pages which is around the double of what it should've been. The plot didn't move that much forward.. Man this book was like watching boring tide of waves. It was just terrible. And the end OMG the end that was just a bit HILARIOUS I actually shouted WTH because o...more

Hey! What happened to my halfway through review???
Didn't care for Lorcan too much because of all the secrecy, but at least now i know he was good all along.
Still don't trust Cheng Li, entirely!
How the Hell did Jez survive something that 3 other much older and seasoned vampirates did Not survive.
Dang it! I knew Johnny D. was bad news!
Sidorio you bamn dastard...eat flames and Die! For good why don't ya?
