If you have a choice, listen to the audio version: Nick has a good sense of humor ("Aren't you glad you got the audio, so you can hear me sing!"). I believe it gives a better impression of him as a "regular guy", not some sort of saint.

I noticed the book had been tagged "religious/inspirational" after I'd downloaded it. I thought "well, alright, the story of a limbless guy qualifies as 'inspirational' to me." Early on it's revealed that Nick comes from an evangelical background, becoming an actu

I got this from the library after seeing the author's inspiring video where he talks to young girls about how beautiful they are and to accept themselves as they are. This man is truly an inspiration. But the book didn't do much for me. Yes, it's motivational and, yes, it is a reminder of what you can do despite all odds. But I found it a bit unsettling that I compare myself to someone with no limbs in order to understand this about myself. I know that seems cruel, but I found it unfair somehow ...more

This weekend I finished reading a really good book by Nick Vujicic called Life Without Limits. He was born without arms or legs but is able to travel around the world speaking to audiences of all sizes about hope and faith. This book was such a positive and uplifting journey through his life that I'm sure I will come back to it again and again.

Throughout the book he uses examples from his own life and those he has come into contact with to show people how by changing your attitude, helping other

Nick Vujicic is an amazing person and he definitely has some great things to say. I am very impressed with his ability to find happiness and unfailing faith in Christ despite being born without limbs. But the book itself was not what I expected and was too long for what he had to say. I have seen YouTube video clips of Nick doing amazing things, and the videos are very motivational. I didn't find anything in the book that couldn't be gleaned from watching one of the videos online. It was hard to ...more

Winner of the CALEB Award, non-fiction, 2011.

Three reviews from our CALEB reviewers:

If Nick Vujicic’s autobiography Life Without Limits was required reading for every secondary school student I believe that the suicide rate for young people would plummet. If it could be made compulsory reading for every adult I believe the incidence of depression would also drop dramatically. If Life Without Limitswere mandatory reading for all new parents I believe both parents and children would benefit.

Inspirational, gently Christian but equally available to believers and non-believers alike, this book is surely as intriguing as the author/motivational speaker must be in person. Nick Vujicic’s Life without Limits offers encouragement to readers who twist against the goads of a limited life, from the viewpoint of one whose life is lived without either limits or limbs. The cover picture, of a handsome happy young man, smiling, staring straight at the reader, certainly pulls you in. And it’s only ...more

I had seen one of his books in an airport bookstore and thought it would be inspirational. While okay, the book is repetitive which makes for a slow read. I admit to skipping chunks of chapters because the theme is the same -- give to others and you'll receive more in return. I get it and I'm not putting down the work that he has done that he's trying to share. It's just how it was done in this particular book.

To think there are challenges in my life when compared to what he has overcome does pu

I had a great ridiculous, enlightening & inspiring time reading the book

Nick includes lots of personal anecdotes plus a lot of inspirational, motivating and touching stories of others which makes reading the book sort of a roller-coaster emotional ride. At times you have a great laugh at other times your grateful for what you have and sometimes you're somewhere in between.

I liked the part at the end "Action Plan" in which some questions are provided for reflection and that serve as guiding s

No arms no legs Nick Vujicic overcame his disabilities to live an independent ridiculously good life. As a kid Nick was treated differently and was called an alien just because he was born without limbs. Now he's a successful motivational speaker, Nick enthusiastically spreads his message. The most important goal is to find your life's purpose and to never give up, despite whatever difficulties or seemingly impossible odds stand in your way. Nick tells his story about his physical disabilities a ...more

I read this book with my book club. Indeed Nick is a man to admire. Born without limbs he never let that get in the way of having a great life. However this autobiography has no drama and the theme of "you might have a crappy life but with God's help and a great attitude you can have a great one."never develops and runs on an on and on in every chapter. It makes for a great Man but a boring read

Encouragement to the max! Nick Vujicic was born without arms or legs. But through conquering adversity - physical, emotional, mental and spiritual - he's been an inspiration to people all around the world.

His life maxims are encapsulated in many of the chapter titles:

If you can't get a miracle, become one.

Attitude is altitude.

He says the most powerful attitudes are:
1. an attitude of gratitude
2. an attitude of action
3. an attitude of empathy
4. an attitude of forgiveness

Nick has a crazy sense of h

Nick is the type of person that I want to be, in female form. I admire his positivity, and his willingness to THRIVE since he was a little kid, turning the other cheek on his physical disabilities.

This book not only inspired me, but his quirky comments on his own physical appearance made me laugh and sometimes even shed a tear or two. It reminded me to never underestimate the power of making fun of yourself to lighten up, let go and have fun.

When I talk about him to people I often refer to him

One has to admire the courage of this man, and ask the question: 'How does he summon it?', especially in today's 'picture perfect' society, where the body beautiful reigns. The book well answers the question, and of course, it's not a silver bullet answer. Nick has a deep faith, solid family support and a purpose in life that is proven to lead to happiness: the service of others. We can truly thank God for people such as Nick, who don't give up despite all seeming to be against them. I would rec ...more

An inspirational book about hope. Knowing that there is a reason why you are here on Earth is something that can help you go on, even after most difficult hardships in life. I like Nick's humor and his optimism - something so rare to see nowadays. He made me laugh more than anything, and that is why I respect him so much. It is not important how we look, but what we truly are.

I had not heard about Nick, but bought this book thanks to a good manager at the Family Life book store in Bakersfield. One of those books I do not just breeze through. Such an inspiration by a young man who is is truly in the life changing category. Everyone needs to read this book and learn to be thankful for all they have.

I don't want to keep reading because I don't see a point in that, I have other real books on my TBR pile. I don't want to say anything bad about the author or the book, but I don't like it's philosophy and that's it. It will be on my 'read' list, because I did read a half and I don't want for that to get wasted.

Nick Vujicic defies the odds. What he lacks in body parts he overcomes with spirit. He shares a triumphant story of a love for life through family and faith. Nick's story is true to the title of his book and he is a testament to what the Bible explains about Jesus coming that we may have life abundantly and live life to the full.

What can a man without arms and without legs possibly achieve in life? Nick makes it very clear in this book - there's not really much he can't achieve and there's nothi

Are you the type who complains when the slightest thing goes wrong? maybe you need to read Life Without Limits. Nick Vujicic has written a book that teaches us not to dwell on our circumstances because we can't control them. He advises we dwell on our reactions to those circumstances because we can control them. There is very little that Nick Can't do. He exhibits such a thirst for life and gives all of the credit to God. So, the next time you think things are going so wrong and you have it so b ...more

What an amazing man! Born without arms or legs Nick Vujicic had it rough growing up, but blessed with a wonderful sense of humor and faith he has become one of the worlds most sought after motivational speakers. Hansome young Nick smiles out from the cover, clear eyed and ready to take on the world and help those "less fortunate" than himself. That gives you your first clue that this will not be a story you expected to read. He even gives us his "Ridiculous Rules" for life! A blessed man, you wi ...more

A very short book by Nick Vujicic where he talked about how he used to be very depressed and suicidal, but eventually leading a purposeful and fulfilling life thanks to his caring family (and his appreciation for them), his faith in God and his optimism. He talked about how he remained optimistic with his disability even when nobody could give an explanation and bionic limbs didn't work out for him.

I applaud his parents for showering him with unconditional love and training him to believe that

"If you can't get a miracle, become one." -Nick Vujicic, Life without Limits

Life Without Limits is written by Nick Vujicic himself. It's about his life and the hardships he had to go through without both arms and both limbs.

I recommend this book to mostly teenagers and adults because not only does he explain all the life lessons, hardships, how he overcame them, through his words, I as the reader, can feel the encouragements and what the ways he overcame the proble

Well written story of the guy on the YouTube videos with no arms or legs. His rules for ridiculous living are worth the price.

Some credit to Wes Smith, Vujicic's writer, who kept the tone and enthusiasm of the videos.
