I started this book thinking it would be another exhausting anti-myth monologue, but it's actually an outstanding piece of scholarly literature. It delves into the nuances of the changing political landscape of the world against the backdrop of the Quincentenary of Columbus, taking a very objective view on all the events, opinions, social realities and paradoxes of the failed Commission and the commemoration of Columbus.
