This book deserves to be discovered! I happened to stumble upon this and thought I'd give it a try; I like to support small press writers once in a while. I know a review for an unknown book such as this one is worth more than writing one that hundreds of others already have, so here goes:
What I found was a true knockout. The author is an extremely talented guy. It took a few chapters (some of which are very, very short) to really get rooted in the story and style, but once I did I couldn't put...more

Although this isn't normally my style of reading, I loved this book. It took me a little while to get into it, but once I did I was hooked. What I found was a great mix of fun, excitement, and emotion.
The book follows a few different story lines, each with very "real" characters. It is about halfway through when their various threads intertwine and the story really takes off with all cylinders blazing. The author's writing style transported me directly into the action, which I thought was very e...more

I don't normally read this particular genre, however I will now! I would read 'The Noble Ones' before bed and would eventually have to make myself turn out the lights so I could get some sleep. This book keep me turning pages and there were so many unpredictable twists and turns. I can't wait for the sequel!

This was won as a giveaway & I'm sorry to say I just cannot get into it. I've picked it up three times & the furthest I've gotten is about a quarter of the way.
Any student can tell you that when you don't have a lot of time to read things that aren't school related the books that 'make the cut' on extra reading have to be something really good. This didn't cut it for me, I'm challenging myself to finish it this summer when I only have a few classes.

I enjoyed reading The Noble Ones, although it was somewhat akin to reading a Cliff Notes of a expansive fantasy novel. Tinsley has great ideas and a gripping story to tell, but his character development is so far behind his plot development, that it is hard to feel emotionally invested. That said, I wanted to keep reading because the story was fascinating in a very traditional, almost cliche fantasy sense. I know that small publishers don't have editors on staff, but I think that given a good ed...more
Oh boy... I really wanted to like this book more but I found myself struggling just to finish it. It took me awhile to get used to the third person narrative that to seemed way too much third person. While reading this book I felt way removed from the characters and their journey. Surroundings were very descriptive but characters, even the main one Aiden, lacked personality. I couldn't relate or understand anybody and so as I'm reading along I didn't really care about them. Chapters were short a...more
I got my copy of The Noble Ones and couldn't believe how great the book was. It had a lot of surprising turns, exciting action, and interesting characters that really brought this book to life. I highly recommend it and hope this author comes out with a sequel. Fans of the genre--or any genre for that matter--do yourself a favor and check out The Noble Ones.
I received The Noble Ones from a Goodreads giveaway and it was awesome. I have to say I really enjoyed the story behind the Noble Ones and the ending...WOW!! I hope this means there is going to be a #2. I do not think the summary on the back of the book does it justice. The Noble Ones is very fast paced and I couldn't flip the pages fast enough. If the kids weren't home for summer break it would have definitely been a 2 or 3 day read for me. I highly recommend The Noble Ones and am hoping this i...more
