Digital Filmmaking: An Introduction is undoubtedly the best 101 textbook covering all the basics of making DV and HD movies. I confess to being prejudiced. I coauthored some other books on the subject with Pete Shaner. He wrote this one on his own, taking everything we did to the next level, and although I commented on the manuscript in draft, this one is entirely his show.
