Lady Raven RAVE!
I am SHOCKED a free book that I actually enjoyed.

The GOOD:
The story was very intriguing, it actually kept me wanting to read, if your into paranormal reads then this would be a book for you. Ransom is a contract killer of the worst kind, who is feared, he is the strong and quiet type. You get a sense of a very bad man but I also sense a good in him. Isla has been held captive for 20 years by Bael, who keeps a tight watch over her because of her powers of touch to see the future. Ransom works f...more

I downloaded this short story as a freebie for my Kindle. It is a lead in or teaser story, but wraps up with enough closer to allow the reader to breath in a non-panicked fashion and wait. Ha ha.

** Please note - this short ends with a final vision involving Isla and Ransom. If your file ends with Isla in the office of the bar, you do not have the updated file. Swing back to the retailer you got it from and ask the customer service to send you the most recent file.

This story is pure fantasy and p...more

I am not the world's largest fan of short stories; I find them particularly hard to review since very little growth character wise is ever brought into play. This is not true for this book. More even than character development I find I love the world the author has created and fluffed out sufficiently for the readers sake to seem foreign enough and familiar still. What I liked most about the book is the fact that the author said enough to make me wish it was not a short story but rather the begi...more

This is a free short story to introduce you to the author and her world. It features a seer, Isla, who's been kept in a gilded cage for the past twenty years by Bael, a man who wants to use her only for her powers. Ransom is a skilled Fae assassin who only wants to free her.

This was a gripping read from beginning to end and I was very disappointed to finish it. I immediately went online to look for more from this author. Her characters are engaging, the world is interesting and the plot was ente...more

Nice characterization. Great writing. This is the first story from Kait Nolan that I've read and I went online and bought 2 more immediately. She's one of those writer that I'll buy her entire backlist now that I've discovered her, and for me that is rare.

In Blindsight we meet Isle, who is psychic and has been abducted and forced to work for a rather unsavory villain. The hero is Random (gotta love that name!) and he's got all the right 'bad boy' elements that make him both sexy and dangerous, a...more

I'm not usually a fan of short stories, but Nolan's a master of the craft. If you're a fan of her Mirus stories, you can't miss this enchanting little bite of that world. Not only does it feature Nolan's lean, descriptive prose, it manages to both tie together loose ends even as it expands her Mirus world's horizons in multiple exciting ways. Absolutely worth it and an exciting taste of things to come, I hope!
Oh, and can I just say I love the cover? Is that shallow? Because I do.

(3 stars = I liked it.) This was just a tease of a story, but it peaked my curiousity enough about the leads, Seer Isla and Assassin Ransom, that I went looking for the continuation of their story, Revelation - it isn't out yet. Blindsight gave only hints at what might be an interesting world with a mix of paranormals - werewolves, vampires, and fae - and the promise of a romance viewed through one of the heroine's visions.

This installment in the Mirus series disappoints in only one way. It is too short! I am greedy and want to read more about how my two favourite couples, Mick and Sophie and Ransom and Isla are going to save the world. More powers converge in this novel, obviously preparing us for the battle to come. Bring it on! I'm ready.

Me likey!

Free short story downloaded from Amazon. I had no expectations but was pleasantly surprised. The action was fast paced but I didn't feel like anything was rushed. Isla and Ransom were both intriguing characters and I'm definitely going to read their continuing story in Revelation.

A-/4 stars

Read this book within the Anthology "Kiss Me, Kill Me" which I highly recommend.

This is book two in the Mirus series and after reading Blindsight - I've found myself a new series to read. Yippee!!

p.s. book soon to be released called Red from this author might not be from the series - but looks really really good :)

Just a short story, but she really got me interested in the two main characters and their relationship. She also expanded on her foreshadowing of the direction the series is headed and made me really want to read more stories set in this world. I can't wait for the next one!

Just wrote something which I had to delete because it's a spoiler. Damn. And it was a really cool way to illustrate the fact that Kait reinforces her characters' paranormal attributes in a modern, believable way. Oh well. You'll just have to take my word for it.

Ranson is a hunter in order for him to change his life and work with the underground her must save Isla from Bael.

But can she trust him?
And what do he want out of this?

This little mini is filled with action and it's a great page turner.

Free short-story. Never read the other previous novellas. Really enjoyed the writing and storyline. Characters actions were realistic and the romance wasn't overdone. Nice female lead. Will probably give it a shot with the rest of the series.

I would give this 4 1/2 stars.

I am so bummed that this ended where it did! I wanted to read more and find-out if Ransom will be okay and what happens with Isla. A fantastic short story with a frustratingly abrupt ending- You've been warned.
Sandra
So I really liked this short story. Interesting world, great characters, only problem is that it was too good and now I'm kind of annoyed that it ended so abruptly and I didn't see a continuation of Isla and Ransom's story anywhere else! Bummer.
Nathalia
I would give it 5 stars but the ending was a bit disappointing. However, as a short story it was well executed and managed to keep my attention till the very end. I'll definitely check out other pieces written by this author.

Received this short story free from Amazon. Read this in lightning speed it was that good. Can't wait to continue reading the story of Isla and Ransom in the full length novel Revelation. He can be my rescuer any time!!

I fell for the Mirus series with the first one and this one is just as good but... too short!
The story kidnaps you and drags you in, making you feel for (and with) the characters. The ending is a cliffhanger, leaving you wanting more. I can't wait to read the other novels of the series!
Sandra
Enjoyable but too short to get a real feel for the characters. Certainly makes me want to check out the other stories and find out more about what happens to Isla and Ransom though.

Oh Isla, how I didn't see you coming :-) I had thought we'd be getting some Drakyn action but I am fine with being wrong on that front. The little girl that Mick couldn't save is presented here and I was filled with excitement to see all these characters tales finely woven together. Not that I was worried it wouldn't make sense but I was curious to see how it was going to work out. I know this is the freebie that most people are picking up first but after reading the other two novellas and in or...more

Great short story. Far to short. A total tease. Got my attention and kept me gripped to reading it in its entirety despite being 1:00 in the morning and my eyes desperately wanting to close. I wanted more for sure
Deniz
An edge-of-your-seat tale with romance sprinkled in. A tantalising read as we wait for the next full length novel in the Mirus world.

I was a little unsure about reading this at first but I'm so glad I kept at it. A nice short read. I can't wait to read Revelation.

An interesting story. I think I would have liked it more if there was more to it. I will definitely be looking for more by this author.

I’m a southern gal, Mississippi born and raised. My nose stuck in a book is where I spent most of my days. Chillin’ out maxin’, relaxin’ all cool… oh wait, I’m starting to rhyme with the Fresh Prince theme song. Sorry…

Seriously though, I love books. I was a voracious reader, starting way back with Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys. I moved from mystery to paranormal to romance to romantic suspense. My wri...more
