Santana Jones barely escaped from the man-turned-wolf that attacked her during a camping trip that she’d won from a local radio station. But it turns out the radio station didn’t have a contest and she didn’t win. Then she meets the Luc who thinks he can detain her while he figures out this so-called mystery. Because of her past, allowing Luc to control her is out of the q ...more

I couldn’t figure out if I liked this book, or really, really hated it. It was one that left me scratching my head.

I think for me, the biggest drawback was the inconsistency: the characters, the plot and the pacing. Everything was all over the place.

I didn't care for any of the characters. Which made it difficult to empathize with them. While I appreciated Santana's grit, she ended up being more of a irritation than anything else. And I hated Luc from page one. He tried to redeem hims

Remember those old sayings our parents and grandparents used to teach us important life lessons? Like “Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.” and “If it seems to good to be probably is”. Well what happens when you get two such instances at the same time? Hey don't happens. As a matter of fact it happened in this very book.

Santana has gotten herself in a world of trouble. Almost dead, she curls up against a horse in a convenient barn only to find herself surrounded by more of

I was pretty disappointed in this book. It started out ok but the characters and world building developed quite a few holes. Santana became truly TSTL.

Santana’s Heat was one steamy roller coaster of story. Luc is clearly smitten with the human who ends up on his property, and while he’s in the middle of taking care of pack business, he’s not blind enough to let her beauty and passionate nature go on the way side. He realizes some danger is lurking for her and can’t just allow her to leave, though she tempts the beast out of him.

Santana is a smart and strong woman who isn’t going to let one attack rule her life, if only she could figure out wh

Did like the story, but this one really is all fiction. I also am not impressed with how the author wrote the scene regarding Luc and Santana riding out on his stallion. Yep, as a horse rider I am really critical of that stuff. Yes, that is a small part of the book, but that is what bothered me the most. The other small things are that the Santana is too good at "everything", stripping, handles guns, tames wolves, etc... I know this is fiction and it is about shape changing, but she really is to ...more

Ms. DuCane has written a really exciting tale with lots of action and some extremely hot love scenes. The plot has a lot of depth and Santana is not what she seems. Santana is a particularly sympathetic character. She is smart, sexy and has a tragic past. Her wolf is pretty much her only friend and Luc has a lot to overcome to get past her protective walls. The author has thrown in a few plot twists that will surprise and intrigue the reader, making this one of the best werewolf stories I have r ...more

Not only is this story about two people who are mates unwillingly, but it is also a clash of the old and traditional with the new and creative. As leader of the North American werewolves and of the council that adjudicates them, Luc was under pressure to marry a pureblood werewolf rather than continue in a relationship with poor, underfunded and non-aristocratic Santana. She is also plagued by her own insecurities and self-doubts. The story of their mating and subsequent experiences is also very ...more

intrigued by the title, I loved this story from beginning to end. I found the plot well structured, beautiful and believable characters. while talking about a theme that is used as the werewolf, this story is original and is very pleasant reading.

Excellent book. The characters are bigger than life, the story is intriguing, the plot complex. If you like shapeshifter books and strong heroines, you'll love Santana's Heat.

It was OK, almost a BDSM erotic version of the Carrie Vaughn werewolf books.

Let's see, I live in NC with my wonderful husband and a 6 cats. All were strays. I think there's a sign hidden in the front yard that says 'Stray Cats Welcome.' My husband's been looking for that sign for years.

I really don't consider myself a writer. I'm a storyteller. A writer implies that you know your grammar, sentence structure and punctuation. That's not me. There's probably an error
