This is an EXTREMELY inaproppiate book, but i loved it. It was juicy and scandalous.

Good plot, but too much foul language and annoying personality for me.

This is not a typical romance novel. It is a story told by a woman named Zoe. She is telling a psychiatrist how she fell in love and married Jason and then later began having extramarital affairs. I prefer stories with mystery, excitement and romantic buildup. Although this was fiction, it felt like nonfiction. It was not fun to read. I was uncomfortable with the language, too much vulgarity and swearing. ...more

Finding a compassionate woman therapist to help her, Zoe finally summons the courage to tell her torrid story, a tale of guilt and desire as shocking as...more

Addicted is probably one of the more iconic Zane books that I remember from when I was growing up. It was the most popular one that got passed around from classmate-to-classmate. When I first read it a few years ago, I thought it was just some piece of melodrama. Now reading it again, the melodrama was still there, but it honestly made a lot more sense.

Addicted is told the perspective of Zoe Reynard, a thirty-something-year-old African-American woman who has the perfect life: marrie...more

First things first, yes its an erotic book, but it focused a lot on romance. Now i've read erotica that had mostly sex scenes and this book just didn't do that much for me. Yes it had drama, but the sex scenes seemed rushed and lacked imagery. It was just point blank, slight descriptions, and I just didn't feel in tuned with Zoe as a character. And this is an aside, but the use of exclamation points throughout the book annoyed the hell out of me. It just looked kind of sloppy on the page. The ch...more

This book was about a girl name Zoe and her addiction to sex. To me, this book was kinda sorta okay but she just put to much of her business out like that. I mean, I would never have this kind of addiciton or sexual obsession to such a thing. But anywho, Zoe had the perfect life any woman could ever want. She had the perfect husband, 3 beautiful kids, and a loyal best friend name Brina. Well, Zoe began to always wanting to have sex and got mad when her husband didnt want to do it so she started ...more

Much like reading the comic strip Curtis, everytime I picked this up on the bus (and hope the person next to me didn't read the cover), I wondered if Zane is really black. I also wonder if "she" is really a woman. If it turned out that "Zane" is really a psuedonym for a racist, misogynist, white man, trying to reinforce every idiotic negative stereotype you've ever encountered, I wouldn't bat an eye. Or maybe she's just someone who discovered people will buy horrendous trashl...more

i wanted to read this to see what the fuss is all about. urban fiction and especially this author is almost immediately stolen from my library or else put on an endless reserve list for patrons. its terribly written, uninteresting characters and not even that sexually explicit. i don't have a clue why its so popular.

I love the sour cream and onion taste. That’s what really makes it as good as it s, also how crunchy it is when I bite into it. Pringos is what I’m addicted to. A book written by Zane was given a title called Addicted. That’s what really drove me into reading the book I really wanted to know more. I’m glad I’ve read it. It’s engaging, the life style that that the main character has is crazy, and the character traits.

Every since the first time I picked up the book just to read the ti...more

I have been interested in picking up Nervous for a number of years and never got around to it. Browsing in the library last week I happened upon a brand new copy and snatched it up.

I was a bit surprised though to find that the book was not the steamy erotic read that I expected but more of a psychological thriller. Don't get me wrong, there is sex in this book which is c...more

Well - this was my first Zane book!!

I think I read it when I was 14yrs, so that's about 5-6yrs ago.

Let me tell you - I LOVE IT!

It was eye popping... Never had I read a book so...explicit! I've been mentally introduced to alot of these my innocent mind back then didn't know of. I wasn't stupid to rush into anything based on "curiosity" though - and for anyone out there who happens to run across Zane's book - I hope you won't wound up doing something j...more

not that i was expecting anything spectacular, but seriously, WHY?! this novel is written like a poorly orchestrated soap opera with more twists and turns than can possibly happen to any human being. it is overly-dramatic and completely unbelievable. the only reason why i'm giving this book a star at all is for the theme of true love which i actually liked. other than that, there were extremely stereotypical portrayals of perceptions of beauty in the black community, ie: straight long hair, colo...more

A True Love Addiction

In reading this book I was not surprised by it's content a lot of us choose more provocative ways to get our points across. I was urged to read this book by a friend who heard about it from someone she concluded that the character was simply insatiable, I read it and I enjoyed it. Zane's book was about a woman who loved her husband but needed more than he was willing to offer at that time. Her addiction was more about her love for her husband than her lust with i...more

I absolutely love this book! The story was on point, I love all the twists & the fact that the book wasn't predictable. One thing I could say that I dislike about it is how extra parts could be, like how "perfect" her life is, and the part where she got hypnotized etc. It just seems a bit too exaggerated, but I guess you could find people like Zoe in real life. And the sex scenes were kind of whack. They weren't descriptive & exciting... I don't know if that's a good term, but anyway t...more

This fictional novel by ZANE was introduced to me by a friend. I read the prologue and the excerpt and was immeadiately drawn to the it. From the outside, looking in, Zoe Reynard, the protagonist, has the perfect life. She's a successfull Black entreprenuer, married to her gorgeous "high school sweetheart", a very successful architecht, living in the dream house designed for her by her husband, with three wonderful children. Even her best friend was unable to see what was going on wit...more

Book description is as follows: "Addicted is the story of Zoe, an African-American female arts dealer. It traces her life from the time she first meets her husband, Jason, in the fifth grade, falls in love with him over a game of Twister in the eighth grade, loses her virginity to him in high school and eventually marries him. Everything seems perfect in Zoe's life to her friends and family as she secretly deals with serious problems in her marriage. After failing to get Jason to open up t...more

I absolutely loved this book. I couldn't put it down. Since then I've read almost all of Zane's novels. She is defintily a creative writer and knows how to keep the reader's attention. Her books are very sexual but also most have a love story within all the drama and suspense. I highly recommend this book as it was one of my favorites, as well as other books written by Zane. If you have a crazy sexual side to you these books are great to get into you.

When reading this book i really enjoyed it and it kept me going. As a person that loves to read, myself loves drama, action, and romantic. This book is about a lady that had a rough life and she lead into a horrible direction. she graduated from high school and when that was over she got addicaed to bad issues that was hard for her and her health. usually when i read i make connections from the book to myself because as a teenage im facing alot.

In "Addicted" by Zane, the characters is Zoe, who seems to have the perfect life, including her three children, her husband Jason who loves her dearly and her best friend Briana.
Zoe's surrondings think that she has the perfect life, but really Zoe suffers from a sex addiction that causes problems in her life. Zoe begins to have affairs with a famous artist, a bi-sexual female, and an ex-con. At the moment and during her affairs she never knew that one of her lovers was an...more

The saying never judge a book by it's cover is so true. When you look a this book you would think it was s inappropiate but it's not. The book is basically about a woman who risks her marriage for sex but all in the end she realizes what really matters to her. I would reccomend for people to read it because it's so addicting, I couldn't even put the book dwn it was so interesting.

Zane is a book written by Zane. Its a very romantic, intense story. I would most likely recommend this book to adults. The story is about a sex addict, Zoey, who marries her high school sweetheart. But she's having affairs with other men. They later realize that both of them had been molested as children of young ages. The plot and characters are well developed.

This book takes a look at sexual addiction from the female perspective and how it almost ruined her marriage, but ultimately true love was not conquered. It was definitely an interesting twist on infidelity. Although it was written very much like a typical steamy love book you can step back and see the message that was being given. I really enjoyed this book

I was encouraged to read this because it apparently had a lot of sex scenes... but thats not why i read it... i was hooked because of the drama and insane life Zoe lives and has to go through to prove she loves her husband to Marcella. Its insane with lots of twists. when you think one tthing is going to happen something completely different happens! its a good read

There are some books that change your life and this is one of them. The writing is great and the characters are well developed. For me the life changer is that it shocked me so much. I vowed to never ever cheat on my husband. It's not something I ever thought about doing but this story sealed the deal. It's a wild, wild ride.

I thought this book was really good at seeing how far someone would go to scratch an itch. It is dangerous the kinds of destructive behaviors someone addicted to sex would go to. And it also shows you how someone's mind can be warped into thinking that sex is bad. A page turner to the end. Can't wait to read another novel by her.
